Her eyes go from the shining marble on his desk to his face, taking in for the first time all his features. He looked very attractive, in a way which she wouldn't normally find attraction given that her previous boyfriend was a lot younger. His eyes looked genuine, yet covered in tiny smile lines which were the only proof of his actual age, that and the silver lining through his ashy brown hair.

Taylor seemed to get slightly taken aback by the question, being sort of a lone wolf through the beginning of the year she had no one who cared to ask her that question, especially coming from her professor.

His voice sounded gentle..  the deep yet slow, sophisticated way he molded his words comforted her in a strange way. Previously if she were to be asked this she would have skillfully figured out a way to speed along the impending reprimanding she was getting, but from him it sounded sincere - as if he actually cared to know her answer. With a deep breath and a low drop of her once tense shoulders, she began to speak.

"I've.. just been going through a tough time right now.."

Her honey, almost golden eyes met his, searching for any indication that he wasn't interested in what she was saying; none showed.

"My.. boyfriend, he broke up with me during the summer. And the day after he started dating my best friend.."

She shrugged her slender shoulders after she had spoken, as if brushing her very words off like it didn't bother her. More so she just didn't want her professor to think of her as the emotional wreck she certainly felt like.
