Taylor

A couple of days had passed since the incident, and Taylor hadn't returned after school to meet in his office after that, not only that but she hadn't been attending any of her regular classes. Having pretended to have caught the flu, she persuaded her dorm attendant to let her take few days off to get better when in all honesty it would only break her heart further to have to sit in his classroom more than 1 hour and pretend like everything was fine.

Tonight Taylor had heard that he was going to be chaperoning a dance put together by the school, something to do with raising money for some local charity. Usually, she wouldn't even put a single thought into going, but something inside her tugged at her, yearning to see him again, even if he clearly had drawn the line between the both of them.

When she arrived there that night, standing there in front of the door of the auditorium, she could feel vibrations of the music coming from inside, masking the feeling of her own heartbeat racing inside of her chest. The student took a large breath in and out past her lips, before pushing open the heavy door into the large dark room. When she peered inside, Taylor could see the crowded bodies of other students dancing, couples grinding against each other in a hormone inducing display.

Taylor herself was dressed in a very tight little white dress, hugging all of her youthful curves while her long bright hair was curled all down her back and shoulders. Her makeup was done up very light and beautiful, obviously very different from her usually baggy sweaters and leggings she usually sported at school. She had one goal, and that was to catch the eyes of her professor.

Marcus

It had only been a short while since the 'near miss' had taken place in Mr Drake's office, and in that time he had noticed the girl's absence, both from his regular lessons and also the evening tutoring sessions that he had offered. Though this hardly came as a surprise, given what an awkward note they had left it on, he was nonetheless concerned about her well-being. He had hoped to pull her to one side at some point and clear the air, explain that nothing could happen between them for a multitude of reasons, and hopefully gain some closure that would allow them to continue as normal.

Despite having no opportunity to have such a chat, Marcus was also relieved, in a sense; he still held some very strong feelings for his student, and would not have believed a word he was saying to her, as he did not want things to end in such final terms, though he knew logically that they had to. All of these thoughts he attempted to push to the back of his mind, which was relatively easy given the number of distractions at the charity dance. Standing against one of the back walls and watching the crowd carefully to ensure nothing was amiss, Marcus was dressed slightly more informally than normal. He still wore a smart, buttoned shirt, but it was not his usual plain white style, instead opting for a dark blue, short-sleeved one that exposed his forearms, which were crossed over his chest, a glass resting in one hand. His usual tie was nowhere to be seen, and he had several buttons undone, exposing tufts of his chest hair. Atop his shirt was a black vest, and in general, his appearance came dangerously close to being fashionable for a man that didn't seem to care for looking trendy.

Seeing that everything was going smoothly, Marcus allowed himself to relax, relieving some tension in his shoulders. No sooner had he done this did he spot Taylor walking in, and his eyes widened incredulously at how beautiful she looked. He quickly looked away, hoping she didn't catch him staring.
