Despite his genuine care towards his students and those around him, people who believed that Mr Drake did not like them could be forgiven for doing so - he was not the best at expressing his affections. Still, he had to admit that he felt a strong sense of warmth towards the girl before him, despite having only taught her for the current semester. For now, he had deluded himself into thinking that it was purely a platonic, academic interest that he was taking in her, though it was uncertain how long he would manage to maintain that lie.

Still keeping his eyes on her, noticing the change in the hue of her cheeks - something he thought only made her cuter - Marcus allowed another smile to form on his lips when she agreed to take the offer of help. Resisting the urge to rest a hand on her shoulder again, he simply nodded his head.

"Good. All I ask is you try your best...and I get the feeling that you at your best could produce some impressive work."

Stepping back to the desk, he picked up the girl's recent papers that he had defaced with his own criticisms, and handed them back to her.

"For now, look over this. Please take my comments on board, and be aware that none of them are personal," he stated.

"And I look forward to seeing more of you, Miss Taylor. If tomorrow works for you then I hope we can make a start. The sooner the better."
