As Taylor watched him read her poem she lifted her delicate fingers up to her mouth, biting at her fingernails while her professor deliberated over her writing. It was specifically important for the girl that he like this piece of writing, feeling an overwhelming amount of inspiration from her very own teacher. While he read, Taylor noticed how unresponsive his facial expressions were, and her heart started to drop slightly in her chest at how stoic he was being.
Quickly her mind started to cloud with doubt, attempting to figure out where exactly he was in the poem so that the girl could anticipate the critique. When he finally did share his thoughts regarding the poem, a deep breath escaped from her mouth that she wasn't aware that she was holding in. Her eyes lit up like he never saw on her before, the golden specs of her eyes reflecting the light off the window pane.
Taylor's lips pulled up into a cheeky smile whilst he praised her work, an immense amount of pent up anxiety releasing from her body.
As her professor got closer to her on the couch she could feel the skin on the back of her neck begin to crawl with goosebumps, still unsure what this odd infatuation to him was; her eyes never left his while he sat down beside her. Trying to find her voice quickly enough to answer him, the girl toyed nervously at the hem of her skirt.
"Umm... yeah."
Her cheeks grew hot while she tried to formulate the words to explain the poem, not wanted over explaining what the true inspiration was so she didn't expose the deeper inspiration.
"My father left me and my mother when I was much younger.." Her eyes fell down whilst she spoke.
"I felt a connection to the bird I guess. Hoping to find someone who loved her enough to find her on the ground, heal her broken hea-.. wing" She flushes at her mistake.
