Demi
Even though Kobe's lips against my neck felt amazing, I couldn't seem to pull my eyes away from the ceiling or my head from my thoughts. His hand ran down my waist and when I didn't react, he rolled off me. He's fingers delicately ran along my bump but I still couldn't remove my eyes from the ceiling.
"Dem" I hummed my reply. "Demi?" I finally pulled my eyes from the ceiling and glanced to Kobe. I gave him a light smile and delicately ran my fingers into his hair.
"Sorry."
"You don't need to apologise, Baby. What's going on in this gorgeous head of yours?" I sighed as I bit on my lower lip.
"I-I..."
"Does it have something to do with Ayla?" I nodded. "Is it to do with Max's new girlfriend?" I nodded but felt like I needed to explain why my mind was on Max and his new girlfriend.
"I-I'm not jealous."
"I wasn't going to accuse you of that, Dem" I sighed my relief as he pressed a kiss to my cheek. "What's up?"
"I'm worried."
"About?" his eyebrows raised in question.
"Ayla. She completely clammed up when I asked her about Lily. She said that she didn't like her but she didn't say why."
"She's only 4, Babe" I shuffled myself up the bed causing Kobe to pull himself away from me. I dropped back against the pillows of the bed and sighed. I began to trace patterns on my belly and I weakly smiled as Kobe ran his hand along mine. "Just keep talking to her, Dem. I'm sure she'll tell you" he settled himself back against the pillows beside me.
"Okay. I just hope it's nothing serious" my mind wondered off slightly as the silence settled around us but I came back to reality at the feeling of my baby kicking inside me. "Can you feel him moving?" I glanced to Kobe who had his hand pressed against my stomach. "It's the hardest he's moved in ages."
"He?" I glanced to Kobe who was wearing a wide smile.
"I hope. We need some more testosterone around here" he loudly laughed and leant in to press a kiss to my lips.
"Yeah, I can feel him moving. It's amazing" Kobe moved himself away from me and shuffled around on the bed so his head was resting lightly on my belly. "Hi Baby" my heart burst and my lips tugged into a wide smile. "How are we doing in there?" I began to run my fingers through his hair as he lightly tapped on my belly with his finger. "I'm your daddy by the way. I should probably stop calling you a he too because you could easily come out a girl" I lightly laughed. "We can't wait to meet you. You have two very eager big sisters too. We love you so much already, Baby" I quickly sniffled, wiping at my cheeks as Kobe speaking to my belly was making me emotional. "You okay?" I nodded, smiling widely down at him as I swallowed down the lump that had formed in my throat.
"Yeah, I'm just happy" he pushed himself up to press his lips to mine and I smiled as our lips danced together. He ran his hand down my thigh so I ran my fingers into his hair, tugging lightly on a couple curls. "I love you."
"I love you too, Baby."
"Enough to go and get me some ice cream?" he moved himself away from me with a chuckle. I bit down on my lower lip as he shook his head and rolled his eyes.
"Baby, we don't have any ice cream. The girls finished it earlier, remember?" my mouth formed a pout and without even trying to make him feel guilty, my chin began to quiver. "Demi" he sighed and moved away from me, his eyes remaining locked with mine. It didn't take long for him to cave. "Okay, fine. What ice cream do you want?" he slid off the bed and began to grab his clothes. "Demi, it's nearly midnight, hurry up."
"Okay, don't rush me" I whined with a roll of my eyes. "You're supposed to love me and do whatever I want, not rush me."
"Baby, I do love you. I love you so fucking much, but it's nearly midnight and I want to sleep" his lips twitched into a smirk.
"I-I want cookie dough" he nodded. "Actually no, I want rocky road" he stood on the rug of our bedroom, his hands on his hips and his eyebrows slightly raised. I bit down on my lower lip as I watched him, admiring his nude physique. He had his shirt hanging from his hand as he watched me.
"Are you sure?" I nodded. I giggled as his eyes narrowed slightly but he didn't question it further and pulled on his shirt.
"Actually, I..."
"Baby, I'm just gonna get you every tub of ice cream they have and you can have whatever you want, okay?"
"Okay, you're the best" he shook his head and rolled his eyes but there was a smile spread across his face.
"I'll be back soon. I love you so much."
"I love you too" he leant to press a kiss to my lips, my smile enormous as he pulled away. He leant down to kiss my belly and my heart melted. He gave me one final kiss before he headed from the room. I listened out until I heard the sound of the front door and then I relaxed back against the pillows, smiling down at my belly as my baby continued to flutter around. "You have the best daddy ever, Little One. You're so lucky" I lightly caressed my belly. I must have ended up dropping to sleep as the next time I was awake, my phone was ringing where it sat on the nightstand. I grumbled, stretching out my sore back before I reached out for my phone, becoming confused at the caller ID. "Hello?"
"Hi, is this Demi Johnson?" my eyebrows furrowed but my heart began to hammer against my chest.
"Yes. Who is this?"
"Hi, I'm Angie. I'm a nurse at Cedars Sinai, we have your husband in our care" my heart stopped.
