Demi
I released a cry at the strong contraction that ripped through me. I clutched tightly on the bed, tears burning at the back of my eyes. I glanced up as Kobe stepped into the room. A sudden flash of worry setting in his dark brown eyes.
"You okay, Babe?"
"No, it hurts. Like it really hurts" I choked on a sob as he dropped to his knees and began to massage my back. I dropped my head on his shoulder and whimpered.
"You think it's labour?"
"Yeah, he's coming" his eyes flashed with excitement.
"How close are your contractions?"
"They're constant. The ache in my lower belly is unbearable. Kobe it's never hurt this much before."
"I'm going to ring your mom, okay? And then I'm taking you to the hospital" he pressed a kiss to my forehead before he stood and pulled his phone from his pocket. I hunched forward slightly, my head dropping into my hands as I tried to muffle my cries of pain. I didn't want to alert Ayla and Kyra who were fast asleep a couple rooms down from mine. "Hi Dianna" I glanced up at him. "Demi's labour has started" I watched as his lips twitched slightly. I bit my lip lightly and whimpered at the pain. I ignored the rest of his conversation with my mom as I tried to slow my breathing. I only pulled from my trance as Kobe's hand settled on my shoulder. "Your mom's on her way over, Baby. You want to start heading downstairs?" I nodded, allowing him to help me stand. I leant into him and dropped my head onto his shoulder as I cried out and clutched my stomach. "You're doing so good, Baby" he pressed a kiss to my temple as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Come on, let's get you downstairs" Kobe had to practically hold me up as we began from the room. We had to stop at the top of the stairs and then halfway down. It took us a good 15 minutes to just get downstairs.
"Kobe, why does it hurt so much?" I whimpered as I lowered myself down onto the couch.
"I don't know, Baby" he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of my head. "I'm going to grab the bags and everything, okay?" I nodded, going back to focusing on my breathing as he left the room. Batman and Ella suddenly appeared. I ran my fingers through Batman's fur as he curled up at my side. My mom and dad turned up less than half an hour later and then we headed out to the car. The pain just seemed to be growing more unbearable. My grip was tight around Kobe's hand as he drove. I groaned at the feel of liquid dribbling down my leg. My waters just broke.
"You're going to need to get your car cleaned" I hissed out.
"Why Baby?" he lightly laughed.
"Because my water has just broke."
"Baby, don't stress about that, okay?" I was thankful when I could see the hospital in the distance.
"Babe, I don't want to panic you or anything but I need to push" he briefly glanced at me with wide eyes.
We pulled into the parking lot less than 10 minutes later but it was long enough for me to know that he was coming now. Kobe dumped the car and then grabbed a wheelchair as he called out for help. He helped me from the car and into the wheelchair. A couple nurses came running as we headed into the building. Even as I sat in the wheelchair, I couldn't stop myself from pushing, the pain was so intense. I clutched at the sides of the wheelchair and choked on my sobs as they wheeled me into a private room. Nurses surrounded me almost immediately.
"Kobe?" I called out, tears pouring down my cheeks.
"I'm here, Baby" a hand settled on my shoulder.
"Demi, we need to get you onto this bed and out of these pants, okay?" I nodded, crying out as I stood. The nurses around me all helped to remove my pants as Kobe practically held me up. He pressed a kiss to the back of my head. Once my pants were removed, I was moved over to the bed. Kobe was sat behind me and I leant back into him. His hands clasped onto mine and I cried out at the pain just moving had caused. "Baby's head has already been born, Demi. Can you push for me?" I cried out and dropped my head back against Kobe's shoulder as I pushed.
"It hurts."
"I know, Sweetheart" I clenched my jaw as I pushed with everything that I had. "Baby doesn't seem to be moving, Demi, so we're going to need to help him out. I am so sorry, Sweetheart, but this is going to hurt" I cried out, or more like screamed, at the pain that just coursed through my body.
"Fuck" my grip on Kobe's hands was insane. I cried at the loud cry that filled the air. The pain between my legs was unbearable but that sound was incredible. Baby was whisked away before I even got a glance at him. Kobe's lips pressed against my neck and I choked on a sob.
"I'm so proud of you, Baby" I could hear the emotion in his voice and it was obvious that he had been crying. "I am so, so proud of you" I leant my head back against his shoulder and closed my eyes, lightly smiling at the distant sound of my baby.
"Hi Demi" my eyes fluttered open and the tiredness I felt completely went out the window when I noticed the bundle of blankets she was holding. "You want to meet your son?"
"Is he okay?"
"He's perfect, Sweetheart. He weighs 8lb 12oz, so he's a little chunk" my lips lightly twitched at the corners. "You want to meet your mommy and daddy?" she cooed down at the baby before she gently handed him over. I took him from her and sobbed at the sight of him.
"Hi Handsome."
