Demi
Demi Lovato shopping for the Christmas season with boyfriend and two daughters.
Demi Lovato, 31, who shares two daughters with her ex-fiancé, Max Ehrich, 32, was spotted shopping for the Christmas season.
The Confident singer was carrying her daughter, Ayla, 3, while her boyfriend of two years pushed Lovato's youngest daughter, Kyra, in her stroller.
The family seemed in high spirits; the eldest daughter excited to see Santa.
We wish them a very Merry Christmas.
"Baby, sit still" Kyra whined as I tried to fasten her into her car seat. "You really need to cooperate with me here, Kyra" her back arched and I released a breath, trying so hard not to lose my cool in a parking lot surrounded by paparazzi. I don't need this to be a headline.
"Baby, get in the car. I'll sort her out" I pulled from the car and glanced to Kobe who ran his hand along my back. He pressed a kiss to my lips causing me to smile. I climbed into the passenger seat as Kobe got Kyra to cooperate.
"Why does she listen to you but not me?" he slid into the driver's seat, his hand settling on my thigh as he sent me a smile.
"She does listen to you, Baby, she's just tired" I dropped my head back against the seat and sighed, grabbing a hold of his hand and beginning to play with his fingers as he pulled out of the parking lot. I kept taking glances at the paparazzi who were snapping away with their cameras.
"I hate that my children have to grow up around this" Kobe lifted my hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it.
"I know, Baby" I glanced back at my daughters, Ayla was playing with her teddy and Kyra was slowly dropping to sleep with her thumb in her mouth. The drive home was silent, the radio playing quietly through the car. It wasn't until we got home that my phone started to ring, my eyebrows furrowing at the caller ID. "Who is it?"
"It's Max" he looked just as confused as I felt. "Hello?" I answered the call, pressing the phone against my ear as Kobe brought the car to a stop.
"Demi, is there any chance I could have the girls for Christmas?"
"What?"
"Could I have the girls for Christmas?"
"Why?" my eyes locked with Kobe's.
"I want them to spend Christmas Day with my parents, they haven't seen them in a while."
"You-You can't just ring me a week before Christmas and ask me to change all my plans, Max" Kobe nodded, pressing another kiss to the back of my hand before he climbed from the car.
"I want to spend Christmas with my daughters seen as I didn't get to last year."
"You didn't get to spend Christmas with them last year because you cancelled on them, Max. That isn't my fault, that's yours. No, you are not having them for Christmas. Kyra doesn't even know who you are, Max" I climbed from the car, refraining from slamming the door due to my sleeping daughter. Kobe had got Ayla from the car and was carrying her into the house.
"She doesn't know me because your boyfriend took over" I just rolled my eyes, wondering around to the trunk so I could grab out some of the bags.
"He didn't take over, he stepped up. I gave you every opportunity to be involved in her life, Max. You decided not to be" I glanced to Kobe as he wondered back down the drive. "I even gave you the paternity test that you asked for."
"Well, maybe I want to change that. Can I have my daughters for Christmas?"
"No, you can't. You can have them next year" the phone call suddenly cut off.
"You okay, Baby?" I shook my head, the backs of my eyes burning with tears. "I'm going to get Kyra upstairs, and then we can talk, okay?" I nodded, my lips twitching ever so slightly at the corners as he leant to press a kiss to my forehead. I turned to the trunk and began to grab out some of the bags, moving them into the house as Kobe carried Kyra upstairs. I dropped down onto the couch once every bag from the car was dumped in the hall. Batman and Ella curled up at my side and I ran my fingers into his fur.
"I missed you too, Babies" I giggled as Batman began to lick at my chin. I sighed and dropped back against the couch, staring off at the tv that wasn't even switched on. I jumped when I felt a hand on my thigh, surprised to find Kobe sat on the couch beside me.
"You were right lost in your thoughts there, Baby" he stroked a strand of hair behind my ear. I released a sigh and cuddled myself into him, Kobe's fingers running into my hair as he pressed a kiss to the top of my head. I tried to hold back my tears, biting down on my lower lip in an attempt to stop my chin from quivering. I just cuddled myself more into Kobe's side and sighed. His fingers running through my hair was comforting and I could feel myself wanting to drift off to sleep but Batman barking at a toy made me jump awake.
"Batman, no" he glanced back at me and then flopped to the floor, his head resting on his paws. "Do you think I'm a bitch?"
"Baby, why would I think that you're a bitch?"
"Max wants the girls for Christmas" I pulled myself from his side, glancing down at my hands as I played with the cuffs of my sweater. "It's a week before Christmas. Kyra doesn't even know him, to her he's just a guy that occasionally looks after her. He was supposed to have them last year, he-he was supposed to have them last week and he bailed. I don't want my daughters waiting for their daddy who's going to let them down at the last minute" Kobe continued to play with a strand of my hair, wiping away the tears from my cheeks. "Am I a bitch for stopping him from having them?" Kobe shook his head and pressed a kiss to my forehead.
"No, Baby" I released a breath and locked my arms around his neck, moving myself onto his lap and cuddling into his chest, sighing as I relaxed against him, his fingers tracing patterns on my lower back until I fell asleep.
