"Ayla, come and talk to daddy" Ayla pushed herself up from the floor where she was playing with Savannah and Kyra, wondering towards me to grab my phone.
"Hi Daddy."
"Hi Peanut" I pressed a kiss to the top of her head and ran my fingers gently through her hair as she smiled at Max on my phone screen. "Did you get loads of cool toys?" she nodded, chewing slightly on her finger. "Are you having a fun day?"
"Yeah, I play with Savvy and Ky."
"I'm glad you're having a good day, Baby. I'll see you next week, okay? And you can have more toys that me, nanny and grandpa got you" she nodded and widely smiled.
"Okay, bye Daddy" she thrust the phone back to me.
"Bye Peanut" she wondered back to Savannah and Kyra as I turned the phone to face me.
"Are you actually going to see her next week?"
"I-I want to be a better dad, Demi."
"It's about time that you noticed that you needed to grow up" he nodded, glancing briefly away from the screen. "I'll see you next week."
"Next week. Bye" I gave him a smile before he disappeared off my screen. Kobe lowered himself down onto the couch beside me and wrapped his arm around me, his lips pressing to my temple. Everyone else filtered into the room and started to settle down. We exchanged the last of the presents under the tree, until there was only one left.
"It's for Demi" my eyebrows furrowed as Maddie held the present towards me.
"For me?"
"Yep" her lips slightly tugged at the corners.
"Okay" I gave Kobe a look who suddenly looked like he'd seen a ghost. "You okay, Babe?" he swallowed and glanced to me with a nod. I leant to grab the present off Maddie. It was a little blue gift bag. I turned the tag and smiled as I read it:

Merry Christmas,
Love you infinitely, Kobe.
"You're so sweet" I pressed a kiss to his cheek with a giggle. I pulled away and glanced down at the bag that sat on my lap. I pulled it open, pulling out the tissue paper wrapped present. I slowly began to unwrap the tissue paper, glancing around at my family who were all sat around with smiles on their faces. Their smiles just played with my confusion. I glanced back to Kobe who sat up on the couch, that same nervous and slightly terrified look spread across his face. I glanced back down as I removed the last piece of tissue paper to reveal a bauble, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "It-It's a bauble" I glanced up at Kobe who's eyes met mine. "I mean, it's a gorgeous bauble but-but it's a bauble. Why are you so nervous about me opening a bauble?"
"It opens" he took the bauble from me and slowly opened it, my mouth hanging open at the ring nestled inside.
"Kobe?" my hand flew up to cover my mouth as he slid off the couch and knelt in front of me. I completely forgot that I was surrounded by my family in that moment as I focused solely on Kobe.
"Demi, I love you" a lump formed in my throat as my eyes welled up with tears. "From the moment that I met you, when you were beating up that bag in the gym, I knew that I needed you in my life whether that be as a friend or a girlfriend. You never fail to make me laugh, and I can never stay angry at you for long. You're my world, Demi, you-you and the girls" he nodded towards Ayla and Kyra who were completely unaware of what was going on as they played with Savannah. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, DemDem" I quickly wiped at the tear that rolled down my cheek. "I want to grow old with you. I want to see the world with you. I want to do everything with you and I want to start that by marrying you. So, Demetria Devonne Lovato, my woman for life, my forever, will you marry me?"
"Yeah" I released with a light chuckle. "Yes, Kobe. I'll marry you" the room filled with cheers as I threw myself at him, my arms tight around his neck. He locked his arms around my waist and nuzzled his face into my neck as the tears flowed down my cheeks. "I love you" I eventually pulled away and ran my hand along his cheek, pressing my lips to his.
"I love you too" my heart burst at the tears in his eyes.
"Oh, Baby" he rolled his eyes as I wiped at his cheeks. He lightly chuckled.
"Pass me your hand" I held out my right hand and lightly smirked. "Your other one, Demi" I giggled as I swapped hands. He lightly held my left hand and slid the ring onto my finger.
"Wow" he pressed a kiss to my tear stained cheeks.
"Good wow?"
"An amazing wow, it's gorgeous" I pressed my hand against his cheek and leant to press another kiss to his lips. "I love you."
"I love you too, Beautiful" once I detached myself from him, I was thrown back into reality as mom wrapped me up in a hug.
"Baby, I'm so happy for you" tears of happiness continued to pour down my cheeks, no matter how much I wiped them away, they were just replaced with new ones. Kobe was pulled into a hug by Maddie and then Dallas, our eyes meeting over mom's shoulder and the smiles that took over our faces spoke volumes. I could not imagine my life without him in it.
"Mommy" I smiled down at Ayla who was being followed by Kyra.
"Hi Peanut" I pulled her onto my lap and pressed a kiss to the back of her head.
"What's that?" she pointed to the diamond on my finger.
"It's a ring, Baby. Bebe and I are getting married" the smile on my face just widened at the thought. I'm determined to make this relationship work.
"You sad?" she pointed at my tears.
"No, Peanut. I'm happy, these are happy tears" she cuddled herself into me. I lay my head on the top of Ayla's head as I glanced to Kobe who was being hugged by my mom. His eyes locked with mine and we shared a smile.
"I love you" he mouthed and my heart fluttered.
"I love you too" I mouthed back, cuddling into Ayla who lightly giggled.
