I stood on the edge of a rock formation looking out at the horizon that was in front of me, my mind surprisingly calm for the first time in what feels like forever. I don't know what it was at that moment, but something about the different colors of the sky and the cold breeze blowing through my hair, it felt as if all the drama that existed with my boyfriend being a Regulator didn't exist.
I heard someone approach behind me, but I didn't even turn my head because I already knew who it was going to be. I felt a pair of arms wrap gently around my waist and I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck. "Are you okay?" Chavez asked me in a hushed voice. "Yeah I'm ok." I responded not moving my head so that I could still look out at the world. "Can I take you somewhere?" Chavez asked politely. "Of course." I responded and turned around so that I could look at him.
"Follow me," he said softly, holding my hand and leading me to his horse that was standing not too far behind us. He got on first, and then held his hand out so that he could hoist me up behind him. I rested my head on his back as the two of us road out into the distance. After about a thirty minute ride, he stopped in the middle of nowhere and I was confused about why we stopped so randomly but I wouldn't dare question him because I always knew that wherever he took me had meaning behind it.
"Here we are." He stated and hopped of the side of the horse first so that he could help me off. Even though I was completely capable of getting on and off a horse, I always accepted Chavez's hand when he gave it to me because I appreciated his thoughtfulness.
After helping me off of the horse, he pulled a blanket off the side of the saddle and laid it on a area dirt that wasn't addorned with any plants or rocks. The two of us gently sat down on the blanket and looked up at the sky above that now wasn't colorful, but rather lit up by thousands of stars that all twinkled brightly.
"Thank you for taking me here." I told Chavez turning my head so that I could look him in his glistening eyes. "It's no problem Y/n I wanted to spend some time with you." He said smiling at me sweetly. "I actually got something for you that I thought you would like." I told him remebering his gift that was sitting the pocket of my satchel that I had over my shoulder.
Before the shootout earlier, we had been in a town that had quite a few shops that had interesting things in them. But one thing in particular that caught my eye was this fire opal necklace that was absolutely beautiful and reminded me of Chavez.
I reached into my satchel and pulled out the necklace. Chavez stared at it with a smile on his face and I told him "This reminded me of you and I thought it could be a good luck charm for when you're away." with a bit of a smirk on my face. "It's almost as beautiful as you." Chavez said and I gently opened up the clasp of the necklace and placed it around his neck.
I sat back down next to him, and he slowly leaned his head towards mine to the point where our lips gently connected. He cupped the side of my face delicately as we deepened the kiss and I couldn't help but feel even more attracted to my boyfriend than already was. When the two of us pulled away from eachother I couldn't help but say "I love you so much." to Chavez. "I love you too." Chavez said, and the two of us laid down on our back and looked up at the sky above us once again.
this is fire opal
