I walked into the dimly lit saloon, looking for my friend that runs it.
My whole life Doc and I have been friends and throughout the years and let's just say my little crush that I first had on him, has grown massively.
Before he left though to go on another one of his trips, I wanted to leave a bit of a care package for him that consisted of my poetry journal and a couple of other books that I thought that he would like.
"Hey Y/n how are ya?" My friend asked with a smile on his face. "Hi I'm doing good and also I have a favor to ask you, do ya think you could give this to Doc?" I asked holding up the basket and resting it on the counter. "How about you give it to him yourself." my friend answered as he pointed his head towards the corner of the room. I turned around and when I did I looked at Doc who was talking to a couple of his friends.
"Ok I will thank you anyways." I told my friend and he nodded before saying "No problem."
I walked to the corner of the room and Doc lifted up his head in my direction. "Hey Doc do you have a second?" I asked with a bit of a smile on my face along with my increasingly rosy cheeks. "Of course." Doc said and stood up following me up to one of the different rooms in the saloon that most people weren't allowed to go in.
Once we got there in private I told Doc "I know that you are set to leave in the next couple of days, but before you go I would like to give you something." with a small smirk on my face. Doc looked at me and responded by saying "You didn't have to do that Y/n." with a bit of a smirk on his face. "Of course I did you are an amazing person and you deserve it." when those words slipped out of my lips I could see that Doc was trying to hide his face from me so that I couldn't see him blushing.
I reached into my basket and pulled out the first items. "First off, I thought that you might like to read when you are gone so I decided that it would be best to give you a couple of books." Doc took the books from my hands and scanned over the titles and responded by saying "How'd ya know I always wanted to read this?" with a cheeky grin. "Wild guess," I said laughing a little bit due to the fact that I was excited that he like his first gifts.
"Next up, I know how much that you like poetry so I decided that I would give you my very own poetry journal." I said pushing a piece of my hair behind my ear as I handed it to him. Not going to lie I was a little nervous that he wouldn't enjoy it or he would find it cliche. He grabbed the leather bound journal and rubbed his against it before opening it and looking at the thousands of words that were written on the paper. "I-I don't know what to say." Doc said stuttering a little bit. I felt a wave of embarrassment flow threw my body as I said "I understand if you don't like it, I knew that it was a little weird." I said playing with the skirt of my dress. Doc looked at me in the eyes with a bit of a smile on his face. "I never said I didn't want it, I absolutely love this, I think this is my favorite gift I have ever gotten in my life." he responded closing the book up.
He took a step closer to me slowly seeming as if he didn't want to scare me. I didn't move but I couldn't help but feel a little tense as he took one of his hands and cupped my cheek with it so that he could easily connect his lips with mine. At first I was little hesitant to kiss back, but then I felt my muscles relax and I started kissing him back ever so softly.
Eventually when we pulled away from eachothers lips, the two of us both had massive blushes that engulfed our faces with a red pigment.
"Doc we gotta go now." I heard a voice yell as the door of the room swung open and slammed against the wall. Doc looked back at me before saying "I'm sorry Y/n I gotta go but I promise you I will take you out for real when I get back." Doc said as he slipped the poetry journal in the pocket of his shirt and then threw the other books under his arm.
