Part 7 Sweet

Xiaolian's POV

I admired the necklace he returned back to me after I agreed on coming.

He spoke, "you are not as bad as your cousin Lan Zhan, i'm relieved" and putted his hand on his neck. I just ignored him.

We walked and walked until were in front of a tall tree with so many yellow fruits, loquat.

I was glad this is not out of Cloud Recesses, I didn't even know there was a loquat tree here.

He climbed the tall tree. He handed me his sword without thinking twice i got it from his hand.

He smirked before climbing, i focused on admiring his sword wooden sheath based on the design its an old one probably belonged to a high level cultivator before.

"Suibian" I got confused to what Wei Wuxian said (because suibian means 'Whatever')

"Suibian? You mean?...." I looked at him who's harvesting some loquats.

"Its my sword's name"

"How could you name it 'Whatever', your really ridiculous" i spat.

He laughed, "what can i do its carved on the sword"

"How about yours, its so elegant" he started humming some songs I don't know but are pleasant to hear.

"Baiyun" i simply said. Remembering the day i got my sword. I was so excited back then and when i got Baiyun I won't let it go. Its my third best friend.

"White Cloud?"

"I really don't know why its named white cloud, this was my mother's" its the reason too why i cherish my sword very much. This is the only thing i got from my mom and the necklace which i got just today.

"Haven't you asked her why?"

"How could i ask her if she's already in the heaven"

He stopped humming and we stayed silent for a moment until he spoke.

"My parents are in heaven too, we'll meet soon" he stared at the sky. I looked up, so much stars.

It must have been hard to him, his mother and father. I should be really thankful that i still have my father, "im sorry"

"Why are you apologizing? Your not the one who killed them",

"I thought you still had your parents, you looked like spoiled"

He chuckled while eating, "after my mom and dad died i wandered in the streets fighting dogs for food" he chuckled before continuing, "until uncle Jiang brought me to his Sect" i didn't know why he's telling me these but it made me pity him a bit, I don't know...

I looked at him someone you wouldn't expect their childhood stories to be like that. Looks like he had it much harder.

After he got the loquat we found a nice place to seat and eat.

To be honest, I don't want to be with someone I don't know because it makes me uncomfortable being around them. I also hate Wei Wuxian but by time being around him, he doesn't make me feel uncomfortable instead it's like your even safe being with him...

He gave me some loquats which I rarely/almost not eat. "try this, its sweet"

I hesitated but in the end I ate the loquat.

The flavor is a pleasant blend of apricot, plum and cherry with floral overtones, and is quite sweet.

I saw him on my side smiling when I was eating until he spoke, "here eat more, I see you like it"

He handed me more loquats and I took it.

While eating he suddenly spoke, "when your not doing anything next time would you got with me here again?"

After hearing his childhood story, i felt my heart softened a bit for him.
"I don't know" i answered him unsure.

I stared at him who's peacefully eating the orange fruit loquat like he has no problems in mind.

And that I didn't know i'm currently seeing the freedom of being unrestrained.

"I heard some rumors about you getting engaged to one of the bat sect, is it true" I got confused, "where did you heard that and what bat sect you mean, a cave clan?" I stopped eating the loquat and glanced at him.

He laughed at the end of my sentence; I just shrugged it off because I don't know what's funny.

I focused, he looks stunning being lighted by the moon, or rather to say its so peaceful looking at him.

"I mean MingXui Sect, that's what we call them. It doesn't matter who I got this, but seriously are you really engaged? with whom"

Why is he suddenly asking me this?

"none of your business" I stood up.

He also stood up, "if not, I'm glad then" i heard him quietly said, as if i won't hear it but i heard it...

I stopped walking, shocked by what he said, "I-I would rather be single forever" and I continued walking without taking a glace on him, why did I stumbled.

"Wait for me little lotus"

Only huan-gege called me that but why my face does is heating so much! "Stop calling me that and go back now don't follow me"

My face is heating... don't you say I'm blushing!

"see you again tomorrow" he waved his hands on the air.

i just turned my back on him, "hm"
