I could feel the warmth of something in my face. I slowly opened my eyes to see a bright light shining into my face. I blinked a few time from the brightness but eventually my eyes adjusted.
"You're awake?!" Romeo said.
"Huh?" I said unsure of what happened exactly.
"After the fight I found you passed ou..." Romeo was cut off by a flat line noise. All the nurses and people in the room rush into a curtained room.
"What's going?!" I asked as I tried to sit up but my whole body was in pain as the memories from the event ran through my head. I hear Lindsey start yelling, "Jackson! Come on! Wake up!!!" I could hear her start to sob, I watched as a doctor escorted her out of the infirmary. I was still unsure of what was going on because I guess Jackson was the one behind the curtain. Romeo approached my medical bed with a blank face.
"Wha-whats going on?!" I asked as I reached a hand up to him.
"Uh.....I don't know how to uh....tell you this.."
"Romeo just say it"
"Well uh............."
"Romeo?! What's wrong with Jackson?!"
"Uh well Hulk....killed him."
"WHAT?!" I yelled I sat up ignoring the pain coursing through my body.
"Hulk I guess snapped his neck or something which messed up a major blood vessel, the way the way the neck snapped it actually didn't kill him which we thought could be impossible but he bleed internally and also bled out at the same time and we've been trying to keep him alive for a few days but......it didn't work." Romeo turned his head away and I could see the pain across his face.
"How.....how long have I been out?" I asked
"About five days"
"What?! Whatever! Help me up"
"What no! You're not allowed to till you're healed (y/n)!"
"Whatever" I winced as I stood up and tried to go see Jackson but they already put a sheet over him and I was going to walk over to say a final goodbye until Romeo pulled me out of the curtained area and a doctor helped me back into the medical cot.
"You're an important soldier and we can't risk another one of you dying" the doctor said.
Over the next week I basically just laid in bed and healed while getting to skip training. After the week was over I was ok enough to start training again and be fine, the entire time I was in the bed I though about whoever the super hero with the super logo was. Whenever Romeo came to visit me I'd push away the spider boy thoughts and Lindsey tried to visit me but every time she saw where Jackson once was she cried and had to leave. I'll admit, it's hard to think about how my almost brother laid like 7 feet away from me and died right there and I never got to say goodbye. But I tried not to think about that.
"What do ya think?" Romeo asked.
"It's beautiful!" I replied
From where the Hydra base was if you go on the roof you can barely see the light from a city far away at night. Romeo set up a date for him and I on the roof tonight which was the first Saturday outside of the infirmary. I stood with my hands on the railing as Romeo had his arms around my waist and his head on my shoulder while hugging me from behind.
"I love you" Romeo said
"I.....I feel the same about you" I said
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
Romeo stayed quiet for a moment and immediately let go of me and stepped back with a stern face.
"Who is this spider boy?!"
"I'm sorry what?"
"You're thinking about some boy with brown hair and brown eyes who ISNT ME?!" He yelled
"I-there was a guy at the fight he must've just popped into my head!"
"No you like him!!!"
"Look you can't just read my mind!!!" I stepped towards him with anger across my face thinking he'd step down with how mad I was.
"You can't be thinking about other guys like that (y/n)!!!! After all I did for you!! After I stayed by your side then entire time you were passed out in the infirmary!!!"
"FIRST OF ALL!!!! All you do is follow me around and say you love me!!! SECOND!!! You isn't have to stay around while I was passed out!!!"
"I DID IT BECAUSE I LOVED YOU!!!"
"THAT WAS YOUR CHOICE!!!"
"WE'RE DONE!!!" He yelled back
I took a step back and immediately my angry face changed to to a shocked face. I didn't know what to say.
"What...?" I asked
"I SAAAID we're done!!" Romeo looked me dead in the eyes and then walked away.
That drew the line for me, I couldn't do it anymore. I went to my room and looked at Lindsey and then pulled out a piece of paper.
"Dear Lindsey,
I'm so sorry and I know you're going through a lot right now and don't need this but I can't stay in the hell hole anymore. I feel like there more to my life than to sit around and hope I get saved, I hope I see you again because you're not only my best friend but also my sister. I love you to the moon and back and I wish you luck and I hope you'll be able to get out of here one day too, goodbye Lindsey."

I pulled out a bag and stuffed my clothes and suits into it and got dressed in an all black outfit I also grabbed a pistol I always kept hidden under my pillow that I stole from weapons training once. Then I started to execute my plan.
