I sat up in my bed after a not so good nights rest. I grabbed my phone from under my pillow and checked to see I had a text from Peter saying he's excited to come get me. Then my phone died-dang it. I got up and made my way to the cafeteria and say Lindsey and Romeo sitting at the usual table. I made my way to the table and then sat down without a word, I sat down. They both looked at me and smiled.
"Hey hun" Romeo said he just grabbed my hand
I have two options....I can either be brat or I can just pretend my way through this. That'd be easier for all of us.
"Hey.." cringing as I say this, "honey"
Romeo smiled and squeezed my hand but I could see Lindsey raise an eyebrow, she could sense my uncomfortableness.
"Hey (y/n) you good there?" Lindsey asked
"Yea yea I'm good. Oh also...Romeo?" I said UGH I DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE THIS SENTENCEEEE, "I'm sorry for....being so distant. I...love..y..." I started and his grin went wide as I heard a BANG!!!
"SOLDIERS LETS GO LETS GO LET GO!!! FORMATION!!!" An agent yelled and Lindsey ran off.
Oh thank god I was saved by the bell...or more like the avengers- I thought to myself
I tried to jump up to go hide or find Peter but Romeo just grabbed tighter on my wrist.
"You're not. Going.anywhere" he said through gritted teeth and started pushing towards the stairwell.
"Dude what the heck!" I said trying from struggle out of his grip.
He started shoving me up the stairs and towards the roof. The building was falling apart and there was fighting everywhere. Over the loud speaker I hear an agent yell
"RETREAT RETREAT RETREAT!!!!! RUN!!!"
Hydra agents were running frantically as we made our way up the last section of the stairs. Stair steps beneath us were falling. And then we got the metal steel door. Romeo pushed the door open with his spare hand. The avengers were all high diving eachother on the roof, Romeo and I stopped and I could hear Tony.
"We need to find (y/n) now! We're not leaving without her"
"GUYS GUYS OVER HERE!!" I yelled and the avengers spun around to see me, Tony and Peter both had massive grins.
"You IDIOT" Romeo scolded me and then started dragging me towards the edge of the building.
"Hey hey hey hey hey! Whatchu doing?!" Tony yelled
"Get your hands off her!" Peter yelled
"Only if you give me what I want. The tesseract please." Romeo said sill guiding me to the edge of the tall building.
"We don't have it" Steve yelled in reply
Romeo and I had gotten to the edge of the building and we just stood there for a moment
"Romeo? What are you doing?" I asked unsure of the blank expression he wore.
"Romeo?! BAH where's your Juliet?!" Tony yelled while laughing
"Right here," Romeo replied while nodding towards me, "but I'm willing to sacrifice her for the tesseract"
"Woah woah woah hey!" I said and without hesitation Romeo pushed me but still held onto my arms so I was leaning off the edge of the roof slightly.
"HEY DUDE STOP!" Peter and yelled and he started to run towards us. As he did so Romeo loosened his grip.
"PETER! PETER STOP ITS OK!" I yelled
"I..." Peter stopped in his tracks with a look of worry.
"We're not handing over the tesseract!" Steve yelled.
I saw everyone's faces look shocked and I turned my head and I could see Clint kneeled behind a box behind Romeo and I.
Clint winked at me and I smiled and nodded. Clint released the arrow and is shot right through romeos chest and his grip released. I fell and fell and fell and ya guessed it! I fell.
"TONY!!!" I screamed in hope he could catch me in time
I felt everything slow down and I looked up and saw a metal face.
"I gotcha kid" he said and flew us up to the roof.
Tony set me down and the avengers Surrounded me. Clint walked up and without a word I hugged him, Clint isn't a huge touchy feely kinda guy but I owed him my life for what he did. He stood frozen and then hugged me back.
"(Y/n)!!!" I heard Peter yell and I turned around and there he was and I could see the tears in his eyes and he just hugged me.
"This is nice" I said
"I missed you so much" Peter said while laying his chin on my shoulder.
"I missed you too Peter Parker" I replied
"Alright kids let's goooo" Steve instructed
"Romeo Romeo where art thou Romeo" Tony joked
"Hey what did he mean by you were his Juliet?" Peter questioned
"Romeo and I....had a thing once and I guess he never let it go" I responded
"Oh...ok" Peter trailed off
And then we all left.
Thank goodness Romeo was gone.
