chapter fourteen
---
this chapter has smut... kind of. I don't know from what point on it is called smut. But uh, be warned if you don't want to read it or if you know me in real person.---
I was about to leave the ASSE room when someone bumped into me from behind. "You and William? Isn't he a tad out of your league?"
Immediately, some other boys walking along behind me started laughing.
"Leave the little fairy alone, Brooks," another added, and they erupted into laughter again.
I simply ignored them and walked past the door as rapidly as I could. I hoped to find one of my mates, they would surely help me get away.
"How did you get William then? He's so much fitter than you," 'Brooks' asked again.
He almost sounded a bit jealous.
I sped up to get out of their way and they left me alone. Only 'Brooks' continued to follow me, but I took all I had to attempt to ignore him.
A boy who had overheard the conversation gave me a hurried, pitying look as I passed.
Arriving at the lockers, I found that unfortunately none of my friends were there. The only person I knew standing there was William, and he was the last person I wanted to see at the moment. He had caused this after all.
I understood that he was in need of an excuse for Mrs Hugh, but now I was the object of all this homophobic hatred, and I was affected by his stupid bullshit? Why were they even bothering to talk to me and not him? Because he's more intimidating than you, a voice in my head replied. I should really start working on getting an intimidating look, I suppose.
I tried not to pay attention to Brooks, who was still either making fun of me for being gay or asking me things about William. Either he had a crush - in which case it wouldn't make sense for him to insult me for being gay - or he just wanted to be annoying.
the fact that William had now picked up on us didn't make it any better. But suddenly he spoke up, "Brooks! You might not have noticed, but Harry isn't interested in what you have to say. I think you can go now." His voice was low and stern - intimidating.
It wasn't much of a rejoinder, but he managed to make it sound like a demand. The guy looked at William a little startled, and instead of talking back, he just said William should let him know when he'd finally had enough of me. uh -
"What was that Mr Curly?" scoffed William.
"First of all, fuck you. I'm not Mr. Curly. I was being harassed by those twerps because you told her we were boyfriends, Mr. Jackass! What kind of excuse is that anyway? 'I'm sorry but I'm gay, Mrs Hugh.' Couldn't you have come up with something better? Oh, and thanks for using me as an excuse, that's all I'm good for in your eyes, right?"
