"...and this, Mr. Styles - "
"Just Harry, please."
"-right. This is your room, Harry. Please get comfortable, get to know each other and use the time to rest a bit, today's schedule is still long. I'll leave for now and I'll be back later with your third roommate, yeah?"
Nail and I nodded in unison and Ms. Calder left, leaving me alone with my weirdly named but nice-looking roommate.
"Maaan this is magnificent!", he shouted right as soon as the door had closed behind the maid and sank down on the couch. He seemed to be a people person and very open, luckily, because if not it would be super awkward right now. I had the tendency to make situations awkward.
I carefully sat down next to him, and wow, I've never before sat on a sofa so soft. I leaned back and took a deep breath and it was only then that I realized how tense I had been. The whole time since the invitation had gone by so fast, I couldn't even remeber the last time i had time to do nothing, like now.
"So, how are you, mate?", Nail asked with a thick Irish accent.
"Good, how are you?", I responded, giving him a smile. I think we two would get along, and I was kind if happy that he was my roommate, because I had the feeling that we were going to become friends.
He asked me further where I was from, how old I was and some questions about my family and my life in general. By the end of our conversation I knew that he wasn't called Nail but Niall, and that he's from Mullingar in Ireland, but moved to England on his own when he was 16, hoping to become a soccer professional. He was twenty-two years old, had an older brother who was already married, and he loved Disney movies just like me, which led to a very passionate conversation about the Cinderella remake. We could have continued talking for ages but when we both had to yawn, we decided that I would be better to take a short nap as we were probably both overwhelmed with everything that had happened so far today.
When I had got up in the morning, my mum brought me to the train station and I went to London, where I got picked up by some expensive black bentely and brought to the palace. Everywhere were maids walking around, taking care of the newly arriving people, bringing them to the reception and checking them in, giving them their room number, their keys and assigning them a maid.
That was when I met Niall. I was sitting on a bench, a stressed maid had told me to wait there until someone called out my room number. While I was waiting, I saw people check in and get up when their number was called.
Then, a young, brunette came up to me and told me and Niall, who had been sitting around the corner, to follow her.In this moment I was laying on the comfortable four posters, which were placed in the middle of the room that I would call mine for the next few years, I guess. I was really surprised that the students got to enjoy such luxury, because sure, this was the palace, but we were just students here.
I kind of expected the rooms to be small enough to cause me claustrophobia, because that was what I had heard from friends who had already gone to uni.
Never in a million years had I expect to get a whole flat, together with two roommates, and not only to have a small living room with a flat screen TV but also a bed room that had a king size bed and furniture that was white and shiny and probably super expensive.
