"Do you start with Maths on Mondays too?", Niall asked me excitedly.

We had just been given out schedule for the first term and now everyone was eagerly comparing with roommates and friends.

"Yeah, I do!", I answered, happy that we had something in common.

"I only have one lecture on Wednesdays!", I shouted cheerfully.

"You do? Show me!", Liam yelled from a few metres next to me and came over.

"Woah mate, what a schedule! And look, we are in the same social studies class!"

We continued comparing and I relievedly noticed that I only had three lectures a week, the English class, without anyone I knew, and the rest with either Niall, Liam or Zayn, who I shared most classes with. I didn't share any with Ed but considering that we would see each other in our free time, I didn't mind much, and neither did he.
I found it a bit weird that we had so many different classes, I mean this wasn't school, but the minister of education had already mentioned yesterday that our first and second term would be very broad so that could build up some fundamentals.

We were told that lectures didn't start until two days later, because there were still a lot of things that had to be carried out, like for example signing up to the computer system of the university, getting a guide around the palace so that we at least had a chance of knowing where to go when we needed the bathrooms, the infirmary, where to go in case we needed psychological advice and all these things.

On the first day, I got to know Niall and Liam better as we spent a lot of time sitting on our couch and talking about our day or our family. Occasionally, Ed and Zayn joined us and we even got Ms. Calder to sit with us shortly.

She was very shy as first and was really unsure whether to sit with us or not, but we didn't take no for an answer, so we got to know her a little bit, too. She was called Eleanor and she had been working here for around two years already, right after she left school because she wanted to get away from her parents and being a maid at the palace was a well-pad job.

She was really nice and sweet and the kind of girl I surely would have crushed on if I wasn't gay... But I swear that I saw Niall blush from time to time while looking at her! I decided that I needed to ask him out about it later.

Talking with them was fun, but that day I had to force myself to keep still and not crazily jump around all the time because everything that was on my mind was that uni would start in less than 48 hours. I felt like a little child on Christmas eve, not being able to stop grinning and thinking about it.
