five 🪐 confession

"please wait, listen to what i have to say."

you stopped moving and looked back up at kageyama— who had a serious expression on his face. he looked down, escaping the awkward eye contact.

"i really like you, y/n. i really, really do." kageyama let out a sigh of frustration.

"whenever i'm around you, i don't know. i feel.. happy? yeah, that." kageyama looked back up at you with sincere eyes. "you make me all happy inside, and its weird and embarrassing as shit. i can't even control it, that's the worst part. it just happens." he paused, as if he was carefully thinking about his next words.

"wait, i don't mean that in a bad way. i don't think you're a bad person to be in love with, hold on,"

you smile as kageyama continued to gush over you. "tobio kageyama, are you in love with me?"

kageyama scratched the back of his neck as he heard your reply. "i didn't know how to tell you, honestly. i didn't want to sound like a sappy idiot, kind of like i do right now. but i was also afraid of losing you, y'know? the only person who i'd never want to leave, ever. 'cuz like, what if you didn't feel the same way? then what?"

you couldn't help but laugh at his words. kageyama wasn't good at communicating his feelings..he never was. everybody knew that. you continue to laugh as if he had just told a funny joke. he was trying his best at least, but most importantly, you related to it all. that same sensation you were feeling, kageyama felt it too. happiness; as he would describe it. he felt the same way about you this whole time, but didn't know how to show you. typical kageyama.

"why are you laughing?" kageyama said, furrowing his eyebrows. "im serious."

"because i feel the same way."

you watched as kageyama's expression faded from stern, to a face of realization.

"how long have you felt this way?" you finally asked.

"i've liked you this whole time." kageyama confessed with a mumbling tone.

you used your pointer finger to lift up kageyama's chin, making him look up at you. "me too." you pecked a small kiss on his soft lips.

his eyes sparkled.
