"ALL PASSENGERS ON FLIGHT NUMBER 802-375, DEPARTING FROM BRIDGEWOOD TO SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT, PLEASE START TO BOARD YOUR FLIGHT NOW. THANK YOU."

Omg. It's time. We're finally here. This is all Ashlyn and I have wanted since we were 7. After today, we won't technically be in foster care anymore. We have all our belongings packed in suitcases and other bags and Ashlyn has some more of those panda biscuits for the flight. We've both just said goodbye to our carers, (my carers seemed more upset than Ashlyn's- definitely) been around the shops and now we're going to the gate to board our flight. Even though Ashlyn screamed at me a few months ago, and we've had a couple more arguments between now and then, we've made up completely and we're ready to start a brand new chapter (literally) of our lives.

"Brooke, hurry up!" Ash shouts me from across the terminal. She is right near the gate and is pointing out the window at the huge Boeing-747 aircraft. I've always been quite interested in planes and other flying vehicles, so to see all these planes on the runways was pretty cool. Also, this is Ash and I's first time on a plane. Being in foster care for most of our lives, we don't really go on many holidays. Well, we didn't, until now. We're not in foster care anymore!
"Coming! Ash I'm so excited!"
"Me too!"
I run over to her and we do our little hugging thing. It's really cute, honestly. Even though we're still nothing more than best friends, I still can't help my feelings for Ashlyn. She still is the prettiest girl I've ever met.

Wait.

New Zealand.
Crofley's told us that we would be sharing a beach house with 2 other teenagers. What if they're really attracti-

Ash goes to a little shop in the airport to buy some more snacks. It's not like we've brought enough with us already, ha. It's a 16 hour flight to Singapore and then we're staying there for an hour as a stop-off. We're then getting another flight ,which is 8 hours, to Auckland. Then it's an hour and a half drive to Wusba island. I can't wait. As I said, I've never been on a plane but I've never been in a beach house either. I've never been to a beach and the last time I went on holiday I must have been about 5, I can't remember. When Ash and I entered the airport, I was so nervous. It's a huge building that I've never been in before. But now that I'm here, I love it. It's kinda like a huge shopping centre- except everything is extremely expensive. Who wants to pay £5 for a little chocolate bar?

"PASSENGERS TRAVELLING FROM BRIDGEWOOD TO CHANGI AIRPORT, BOARD YOUR FLIGHT NOW. I REPEAT, YOU MUST BOARD YOUR FLIGHT NOW."

I know I said it when we were doing the auditions for Crofley's, but this is the biggest moment of my life. We walk up to the gate and I am SWEATING. We wait in a long queue and then we manage to get past the all the gates. Then, it's time to board the plane. My heart starts racing again, even more than last time. My arms and legs start shuddering and I'm extremely nervous. What if the plane crashes? We're going to be in the air for 16 hours, how does petrol keep running? So many questions and thoughts are churning and stirring around my head. I clasp my chest and it feels awfully tight. I feel like I'm gonna be sick. Abruptly, I vomit everywhere. Yuck. Ashlyn's stood to the side of me and she seems unexpectedly excited whilst I'm over here, practically dying. Strangely enough, I think I might be scared of planes. *sarcasm*

Our bags are in the overhead storage, and we're all ready to board the plane. I carefully lift my feet up, one by one and stand on the stairs to the plane. Ash runs up the steps and starts talking to the flight attendants. Lisha is stood behind Ash and I, and she helps me on. Lisha starts to talk to the flight attendants too and I sit down in my seat, buckle my seatbelt and I start to feel sick again. Ashlyn is sat next to me and she shouts the flight attendant over to give me a sick bag. Ash! That's embarrassing. The flight attendant tells me not to worry, and that it's perfectly normal for a first-time-flyer. It didn't seem normal though, Ash was sat next to me, so eager to get to New Zealand. She seemed like she didn't have a worry in the world, whilst my mind is over here about to explode into a thousand pieces. I'm worried about so many things: who we'll meet, what we'll be told to do, who we'll have to stay with, if I left anything behind, you know, those types of things. All of a sudden, I start juddering. The plane is taking off. Ash holds my hand and I get an electric volt of excitement run through my body. Surprisingly, all of my worries vanish and I'm excited. It's all very sudden. I close my eyes and the plane takes off. This is the start of something.

Touch down. We arrive in Singapore. The flight attendants on the flight were so nice, and I only used the sick bag once. Ashlyn was a literal Goddess. Despite how dramatic this sounds, she did kind of save my life. One of the flight attendants told Lisha, Ash and I that Changi Airport in Singapore is rated the best airport in the world. Wow. I look outside and here we are. I've already stepped off the plane and then we walk into the airport. It's enormous. We're told there's a swimming pool, water fountains and all sorts of luxurious elements in this airport. It doesn't even feel like an airport. There are plants everywhere and this airport is so environmentally friendly. This is Singapore. We stay here for an hour and then we're off to New Zealand. I can't wait. Ash offers to go to the shop and look around for yet again, some more snacks. After a 16 hour flight, we'd eaten most of the snacks that we had brought from home and most of the snacks that Ash had bought from the airport. I can't believe we're moving to New Zealand, permanently. It still doesn't feel real. A few months ago we were ordinary school girls who were in foster care and hating life. Now we're moving to a crime school on the other side of the world, and we're already halfway there. There's no going back now. This is real.

I venture with Ashlyn around the shops in the Singaporean airport. We find a lot of unusual snacks and buy a couple of souvenirs. Lisha gave us a couple of Singaporean dollars to spend while we're here. Whilst we were still in Bridgewood, we decided that we would sleep during this changeover, but there's too much to do, so Ash and I have decided that we're going to sleep on the next flight. An announcement is made and it's time for us to go to the gate to board our next plane. I'm nervous, but now that I've been on my first ever plane journey, I'm not as nervous as before. We board the plane.

Another boring, long time later, we arrive in New Zealand. It's incredible. It all feels so real now. This is our new home. My crush and I's new home. This is the place of our career. This is astounding. We get off the plane, leave the airport and get in our taxi which is waiting for us outside of Auckland Airport. We travelled with Emirates all the way from the UK, to here. We get in the taxi and it is BOI-LING. It's so hot in here, nothing that Ash and I are used to in Bridgewood. The taxi driver introduces himself as Steven and he drives us an hour and a half away to Wusba Island. I'm just so glad everything went okay on the plane rides. There were no babies crying, so that's a success in my eyes.

We finally arrive at the port to Wusba Island. We have to take a 5-minute journey on a mini-tour- guide ship to get to the island, but when we get there we'll have our own small canoe to get to the mainland to go shopping, to get to Berkeley's headquarters, etc! I can't believe this. I'm going to have to learn to paddle a canoe! That's crazy. We arrive on the island and there are two teenagers to greet us there- a boy and a girl. The boy says his name is Kyron Baristek, but we can call him KB or Kyron. The girl says her name is Myliey Rosettor and she takes us into the beach house. Without her having to say anymore, I think she is incredibly attractive. I'm so excited to get to know her (and Kyron, although I don't think he's very attractive) and to know the island. Their strong New Zealander accent is so attractive too and I can't believe that Ash and I are actually going to be living in this place.

Ash leans over to me and whispers, "Wow. Kyron is incredibly attractive. Do you not think?"
