Oh. My. God.
Kyron! What on earth were you thinking? Why didn't you tell us we were getting a new roommate? Especially when it's Jamie Corvanze!
Ugh. As if my former foster brother has just moved in with us. I've just moved here from the other side of the world to get away from him, yet here we are. How did he even-? How did he get into Crofley's? I wonder what Sue and Mark were thinking. Maybe Jamie's always liked criminology and just never said anything to me, (not that he never spoke to me anyway) or maybe his parents just did everything they could to get rid of him, because they were sick of the rock music, as well as me. It could be either, or it could be something else, but all I know is that I am NOT staying here with 'that.'
Yesterday night, Kyron let Jamie Corvanze enter our home. This is for 15-year-olds. We don't want a little 13-year-old boy in here with us. Yet here I am. I'm staring at him for the first time since I moved to New Zealand. His deep blue eyes stare back at me, but his lips do not move. He looks disgusted to see me here and I look disgusted, too. Brooke is stood to the side of me as we are are told by Kyron to meet Jamie and to shake his hand. She leans in towards me and whispers in my ear, 'Woah. I think he's really attractive.'
I jump out of my skin.
Why did I never tell Brooke about my old foster family? I told her that they were weird, but I never mentioned their names, ages or appearances. I knew that this was definitely the Jamie Corvanze I know. I slap Brooke across the face. Oops. How dare she? She looks so confused and slaps me back. We get into a mini fight, until Myliey breaks it up. I start to explain to Brooke why I slapped her and she is very understanding.
"This is your weird foster brother you were talking about?" She shouts, and Jamie blatantly heard her.
"Um...yeah." I whisper back. She looks shocked, but I can also tell that she's trying not to look like she is. All of us shake Jamie's hand and say hello, except me. It felt weird that he would be going to the same school as me, and that we would see each other everyday. Never-mind that, we would have to constantly speak to each other as we live in the same house! I know we lived in the same house in England, but this is different. We're going to be going on trips together, working together, building a bond together, now. In the three months that I lived in that foster placement, I figured one important thing about Jamie; he finds any girl attractive. Now, that's a problem.
It's a problem because so does Brooke. She find pretty much anyone attractive. Now, I can't say much because I've liked a lot of boys in my time, but none as much as I've liked Kyron Baristek. He's the most handsome lad I've ever met. I want to ask him out but I'm just not too sure...yet. I want to give it some time. To settle in to his home, basically.
After meeting Jamie, (my second time meeting him) Myliey and Kyron decide to take the three of us on a boat trip around the island, again. To help Jamie settle in a little better. Brooke and I, strangely enough, agree to this and we get on the same canoe that nearly drowned us last week. That was Kyron's fault, but still. We get in the canoe and set sail for our adventures.
It's pretty cool seeing all the wonderful sights of New Zealand; the kaleidoscope of colourful fish, the stunning, beautiful blue ocean, the flaming, golden sun twinkling in the sky, and the few marshmallowy, fluffy clouds. I could sleep on them. It's also pretty boring though, I've only been here just over a week and I'm already a little sick of it. It's a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by 'sharks', so I'm bound to get bored quite quickly. I'm sat next to Kyron in the passenger seat, Myliey and Brooke in the very back, giggling, with Jamie sat in the middle on his own. This canoe is a kind of 2-1-2 formation: 2 at the front, one in the middle and 2 at the back. Nevertheless, it's a decent vehicle for just the 5 of us. I stare into KB's gorgeous bluish-green eyes again and I can't help but love him.
Inside of those desirable eyes, I see wind-stirred waves. If I were brave enough to enter one of their depths, everything else would blur and I'd fall so deep in love, that I'd choose to stay with him forever.
And I am brave enough.
We finish the tour, and Jamie seems to have loved it. He quickly gets to know his bearings, and that night, the 5 of us decide to travel to the mainland (a short 5 minute trip away on the canoe) to go to a restaurant to eat. This is all a sort of an all-inclusive resort, so we don't have to pay. Berkley's pays for absolutely everything: food and drink, leisures we can go to such as cinemas and swimming pools and almost everything else you can think of that teenagers would possibly need. They provided us with phones as soon as we arrived and all other essential gadgets were already in the home when we got here.
We eat a lovely meal and go back up to the rooftop to sit and watch the sunset. Daringly, I ask Kyron if he wants to sit next to me and maybe cuddle. He agrees and we sit together on the rooftop. Myliey and Brooke sit opposite us, with Jamie sitting off to the side, eating roasted marshmallows, roasted from the campfire. I'm cuddled up next to Kyron and we gaze sentimentally into each other's eyes. We pause for a moment and KB almost leans in... to kiss me? I can hear Myliey and Brooklyn chattering away, but then I take my eyes off Kyron for one second, to look at Brooke. Myliey is speaking to her but Brooke can't take her eyes off Jamie. She looks like she's struggling. It almost looks like she's in love with both of them, and she can't choose between them. Brooke is an extremely pretty girl and especially with what I know about Jamie, either of them could find her attractive. Unless, that is, Myliey isn't into girls.
Kyron's phone rings. I forgive him for not telling us about Jamie joining Berkley's. After all, Kyron never knew that he used to be my foster brother. It also made me realise that maybe Kyron is the type of person to give surprises. I love those types of people and when it's my crush (who possibly loves me back) who is the type of person to do that, it makes me think that he would be great in a relationship.
I wonder if this is someone else joining our house, Kyron never stops getting phone calls! He steps away and our romantic duration comes to an end. After about 10 minutes, he comes running back up to the rooftop. He looks extremely worried and confused. I wonder what's happened?
"Shoot, shoot, shoot!" he announces, quite concerned.
"What's wrong, Ky?" I ask. I'm quite worried about him.
"Guys," There's quite a long pause before he says something next. "We have a crime."
Huh? Myliey starts running around, jumping up and down screaming, "WE HAVE A CRIME, WE HAVE A CRIME!" She seems way too overly excited. Jamie, Brooke and I look at each other, really puzzled. Myliey runs up to Kyron and gives him a massive hug. Kyron doesn't seem too impressed and looks down towards me. Brooke and I look each other dead in the eye and mouth, 'what's going on?' In sync, we both shrug our shoulders and ask Kyron and Myliey what is going on. Kyron orders everyone to sit down, but Jamie hadn't moved in the first place."Everyone, Berkley's just called. We have a crime to solve and it's a huge one. It's over in the UK and apparently, we're going on a plane to solve it next week. Get your stuff ready, guys. We're off to Crofley's to solve a real crime!"
It all kicks in. We're detectives now, and we're going to be solving a real crime. We only got here last week but yet Brooke and I have got to go back to the UK to help out with this!
"There's been a mass murder in Bridgewood, where you guys are from, I think." He flickers his eyes at Brooke, Jamie and I. "In Koolsbelle, which is a part of Bridgewood, 202 people have been killed in a secret party venue, behind the city centre, where Crofley's is located. There were no witnesses, as the killer or killers chose to kill everyone who was there. This is a big case on our hands, guys, and we need to solve it. I call this, the 'Koolsbelle Killers' case!"Unhurriedly, Kyron walks away. I can't speak. I'm in shock, yet I'm also in awe of Kyron's gorgeous figure and handsome face. He blows a kiss as he walks away and somewhere inside of me manages to blow one back. Then my jaw drops. Brooke and I promptly turn our heads to look at each other, and then I look towards Jamie. He's gone off his phone now, and his jaw has dropped almost as much as mine has. He looks at me, then Brooke, then Myliey, and says, "That's where I'm from."
I can't speak. To know there has been a mass murder from where I've just came from is remarkable. Brooke and I weren't born in Bridgewood, in fact, we were born on the other side of the country- both of us. This though, is crazy. Myliey tells us that neither her or Kyron have ever been involved in solving a real crime. This is something new for the lot of us then, and I'm 100% ready for it. It will put my skills to the test, and help me thrive and grow as a detective. Back to the UK again, bring it on.
