It Couldn't Get Any Stranger

You all sit down in the cinema, you were surprised that the party would actually watch a film like Back To The Future.

Well that was judging from the beginning of the film.

You have never actually watched a film before but last year you had managed to get an old camera rolling in the upside down and watched a few videos.

It was a couple of boys dressed as 'ghostbusters' and they were getting sweets from everyone's houses.

'Halloween'

You move your attention to the screen.

"88 miles per hourrr" you hear someone say.

You weren't really paying attention though so it didn't matter.

After about 15 minutes of staring at the film screen your mind begins to wonder.

The demogorgan, What did it want?

•El
•You

You make a mental list.

You then look over to Will who you were sat next to.

No one else had noticed but he was wincing and itching his neck.

"Will.."

He flinched.

"Will are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine, just memories from last time I was here"

That was a lie, you don't look like that when you remember stuff, you look like that when you are experiencing stuff.

You didn't want to annoy him but you had to try again.

"Will, you know I'll understand, you can tell me!"

"Y/n, seriously, I'm fine" he smiles weakly for a millisecond before returning his eyes to the screen.

The lights flicker.

The party share a worried glance.

"Holy shit what if it's the demogorgan?" Dustin says.

"It's not the demogorgan" Lucas says.

"Can you prove it?" Dustin says.

"Well no bu-" Lucas says but Dustin cuts him off.

"Exactly! Don't you think we should get out of here, technically we could be leading the demogorgan to innocent people." Dustin says.

"I agree, El?" Mike says.

El nods.

You all get up and leave the cinema.

You walk back through the cinema exit and towards the public phones where Mike stands and calls his mother.

You sit on the bench with the others. They all sit uncomfortably.

"You know, this reminds me of when we were at that hospital" Max says.

"What?" You ask.

"We fought off this monster than came after Nancy and Jonathan" El says.

"It was more El than any of us" Max says, "she did all the work, we'd be dead without her"

El smiles, "Thank you"

You try and smile but they were clearly having a 'bff' moment.

"Y/n" You hear that familiar voice.

It's 1983 in the upside down.

You are considering going back to check on Will. It wasn't right you left him alone, he had no way to fight it. At least you knew how to whack it with a stick.

The icy breeze made you shiver as you made your way through the dense forest, the demogorgan nest was nearby and so was another girls body.

You had found it yesterday, she was probably only a couple years older than you.

But beside the body were some eggs that slightly looked like chicken eggs but were a darker navy kind of colour.

"Sevennnn" you hear in the distance.

Then a crunch of something moving near by.

You run back to the hut to find it broken and no little boy inside of it.

"Will!!!!"

"Will?"

No answer.

You lay on the floor and begin to sob.

"Y/n?"

"Yeah sorry Will I just drifted off"

"It's alright, I do it sometimes, traumatic right?" He smiles a bit.

You smile back.

Mike walks from the phone and stares at you all.

"Alright, my mums coming to pick us up, so is your mum Will" he says.

You all wait outside in the breeze until eventually the cars pull up outside the entrance to the Mall.

"Get in kids!" Joyce's smokers voice croaked to the extent where you weren't sure if she had been crying or just really tired.

Either way you were tired too.
