Chapter 25 - the first challenge

"Julia Diggory!"

I snap out of my trance and face the board "Sorry what did you say?"

I hear a couple giggles from the class as professor Snape rolls his eyes. I'm almost certain he hates me more than Harry Potter.

"Can you tell the class what the ingredients for the calming draught potion are?"

I start to flip my book pages when Snape cuts me off

"WITHOUT using your book. Ms Diggory?" I close my book and shrug my shoulders. He walks away and says "As I thought. Maybe if you stopped daydreaming in my class you would get better grades"

I heard some kids in the back start to laugh.

It's not my fault I'm scared for my bloody cousin. You try having the people you care about start to hate you while you start to hate yourself. You wouldn't know what that feels like, Snape.

"Someone has a crush on WoOoOoOod"

I turn my head and the kids in the back

"No I don't, now shut your traps before I start throwing shit at you"

"that's enough ms Diggory. 7 points from ravenclaw"

TIME SKIP

"Julia? How are you?"

I turn around and see Cedric running up to me

"we haven't talked in a while"

"I'm not doing good actually. I just hate everything right now"

"how so?" We start to walk to my next class since he has a break

"well draco isn't getting any better at not being mean, George asked me to the ball, I said YES to George asking me to the ball, Oliver is ignoring me, and YOU are putting yourself in danger"

he stops walking and lets out a small laugh "wait you're telling me, that George Weasley asked YOU to the ball before draco malfoy?"

I nod my head and he starts laughing. I walk over to him and give a playful shove

"It's not funny, he was really sweet about it though" I say, giving a small smile.

I look behind Ced and see him.

Oliver.

Our eyes meet and he looks away and keeps walking. Cedric turns around then walks backwards to him back at me

"I'll talk to him ok?"

I smile then turn back to head to my classes.

ANOTHER TIME SKIP sorry

The day of the first challenge. I take my place in the stands next to hermione.

Draco has been avoiding me as well these past few days. I guess I deserve it though, considering all I've put him through. We are still dating though I don't know if we are going to make it official. I'll talk to him after this and try to make up for it. But how can I?

"Julia it's starting"

"I'm scared"

"you can hold my hand" Hermione says with a small laugh. She reaches out her hand and I give a small laugh and take her hand.

"thank you" Cedric comes out and I give a small squeeze to Hermione's hand. He spots me in the crowd and gives a small wave to which I return.

"This is outrageous" I barely watch the challenge, burying my face in Hermione's shoulder but I watch as Cedric gets the egg from the center and takes it back. I give a sigh of relief as he smiles at me from the ring.

"So who are you going to the ball with hermione?"

She smiles while looking at her book "you'll see" I smile back at her

"what about you?" I smile and look at my book

"you'll see as well" there is a brief moment of us smiling before we both erupt in laughter

"SHHHHHH!" The librarian shouts as we quiet down out giggles

"did you hear? Cedric is taking Cho Chang to the ball?" We hear as a couple kids talking as they walk past us

"Aww that's so sweet."

"Oh no that's so sad"

I look at hermione confused and she looks the same way at me

"what do you mean 'that's so sad' what's sad about it?"

She sighs and whispers to me "Harry was going to ask Cho to the ball"

I give a small giggle and then realize she's serious.

"What? What's funny?"

"I can't tell you sorry"

"that's fine. I actually have to go but I'll see you at the ball. We can help each other get ready. Me, you, Ginny, and Luna. Ah this is going to be so fun!" Hermione says as she packs her things.

I give a laugh at her, I've never seen her this happy before.
