Chris POV

We've been getting a lot closer. Arabella and I. I even shortened her name to Bella and she hardly lets anyone call her that. Im sitting in the library now, waiting for her to finish swim practice.

BellaMella: Hey Im out of swim, meet me by my car

Me: Okie dokie

I meet her by her car and give her a big hug. "How was swim? You didnt almost drown right? Oooh your hair isnt wet,"

She smiled. "Yeah, I wore a swimcap today. I didn't wanna get you wet. Today at least."

I smirk at her dirty response. "You can get me wet anytime baby. Anytime. But um yeah anyway, I want a tour of your beautiful house. I didnt see all of it."

"Um ok, lets go then." She drives off and IAMX softly plays in the background as she talks about how great swim practice was. I loved the way her straight jet black hair ran down her neck, stopping right above her shoulders. How pink and full her lips were when they're curved into a smile. Her perfect nose and her adorable grey green eyes that were surrounded by her long full eyelashes.

I could never be with a girl like her. Shes beautiful, athletic, a promising future of money and a great job, and all I have to offer is my skill at the guitar. Who cares about that? Anyone can play guitar. And I'm not even attractive.

"Chris I know this is random but do you think I'm pretty?" she asks pulling into her driveway. What?! Of course!

"Arabella I think you are perfect in everyway. You are overly beautiful."

She looks over at me and smiles. I smile back running my fingers through her hair. "Well, lets give you this tour you want. Its not much though."

We go inside and she takes me to the basement first.

"This is the basement. Its not really a basement basement. Dont you know how people have like really dark basements with just washer and dryers?" I nod. "Well not us. We actually just got this flat screen not too long ago. Only me and a couple friends come down here to chill and play games sometimes." Wow, she has a bar too! Damn.

"Oh shit! You have NHL 2015! We gotta play this sometime. Wait, how about now? You can show me around later."

"Okay sure. Its already in the XBOX so lets get to it." I take a seat on her L shaped black leather couch and she sits next to me.

"Fuck you Chris!"

I laugh.

"I forgot to warn you about being the best ever at this game."

"Oh yeah? Well, I dont care!" She sits on my lap to try to make me lose but I still make the point anyway. She pauses the game and sighs. "I hate you."

"Sorry but you suck." She frowns and starts to rise off of my lap. I pull her back down so she sits starddling me. "Arabella?" I whisper.

"Yes?"

I pause for a moment taking short glances at her lips. "May I kiss you?"

She nods twirling the ends of my hair with her index finger. I lean in softly landing my hand on her cheek. She bites her lip and gets up sighing.

"I'm sorry." I sigh. "Did I do anything wrong?"

She shakes her head rubbing her hand up and down her arm. "Im sorry, Chris," she whispers, barely audible.

"It's fine. I should probably go anyways. I have tons of homework."

She nods keeping her eyes off me. "I'll take you home now." I rise off of the couch ascending from the basement, me close behind her.

It was a short ride to my house and the quietness was eating me alive. I don't know what went wrong. She said I could kiss her but then she changes her mind? I don't understand.

"I'll see you tomorrow I guess."

She smiles sadly. I step out of the car door closing it behind me. I turn around leaning into the car window bending over. "Hey?"

She stays silent looking ahead ignoring me. "Arabella?"

"Yes?" she says her face blank.

"Tell me, please. Is there something I did wrong?"

"No Chris, there's nothing you did wrong." Her voice was starting to shake and I though that I should just leave her alone. She'd be better off anyways. "I'll see you later."

She drives off leaving me sad and confused for a while. I go inside heading straight for the stairs. Screw this homework Im tired.
