Chris POV

She's been away for the past 3 days, and won't be back until Sunday I think, which is in 4 days. I'm getting extremely paranoid that they'll beat me up again.

I mean I can fight for myself, but not against 4 other dudes. This time around, it'll be worst than last time. They said they'll put me in the emergency room next time around.

I just don't know what to do at this point. I can't break up with Arabella just because a guy told me to. I love her.

I just returned from band practice from Angelo's place. Leaving everything in the car, I collapse on my bed and quickly fall asleep.

Arabella POV

Spending the whole springbreak Devin made us even closer. He told how much he misses living in Scranton and how badly he wants me to stay here. I mean, I'd love to, but my whole life is back there. Especially Chris.

"Do you have to go?" Devin whined. He hoisted me up onto the big rock at Venice Beach and jump up after I was safety placed. "I'll have nothing after you leave."

"I don't want to leave either but have school, and sports, and friends-"

"And Chris," he whispers.

"And Chris."

"Do you love him?"

I nod repeatedly and stutter replying with a yes.

"Do you love me?"

"Devin-"

"Don't say no. I know that you feel something for me. After all this time together. There's got be something in that little vault of yours," he smile poking my chest in the area of my heart.

"I mean, you are special to me but, you're not that special." I pause and I could see him disappointed in his eyes. "I mean- I- I-"

"No I get it. I'm not special. It's fine,"

There was an awkward silence basically the rest of the time at the beach. We'd exchange a couple of reassuring looks but it wasn't the same. I should've kept my mouth shut.

I laid my head on his shoulder and and he almost immediately placed his on mine. We were both grabbing for each others hands at the same time which was a bit unexpected and nonplussed but lovely at the same time. Looking at our intertwined hands, I snapped a picture. I didn't upload it to Instagram, I'm just going to keep it for me.

We sat there for a couple more hours. Soaking up each others company for the time being, and watched the sun go down jointly. After a couple seconds, I could feel him shake and a couple sobs escaped his mouth.
