"Down, set, HUT!" Johzenji's quarterback, Futamata, yelled signaling the start of the play. Futamata then passed the ball to Terushima, who successfully received it and managed to get down 10 more yards before being tackled by Aone.

The next play started, this time Futamata fake passed it to Higashiyama, then sprinted down the side towards the end zone. Most of Date Tech tackled Higashiyama thinking he had the ball except Aone and Kenji. Kenji quickly caught up to him and tackled him. However he did earn Johzenji 15 more yards, making them around 35 yards from the end zone.

Everyone got back into formation and started the play again. Futamata decided to pass the ball to Rintaro this time. You sucked in your breath as Rintaro was about to catch it, only to be blocked by Kenji and Kenji catching the ball instead. Once Kenji caught the ball, knocking down Rintaro in the process, he quickly ran the opposite way to his teams endzone. He avoided the blockers skillfully, nearly completely making it, but was tackled by Terushima at the 20 yard line.

Aone then went to go help up Kenji after Terushima just knocked him down, made fun of him, then left.

Thanks to Kenji, Date Tech had the ball now.

"You go, Futakuchi, you son of a bitch!" Kamasaki yelled from beside you, startling you slightly.

"Calm down." Moniwa scolded him.

You quickly turned your attention back to the game. Kogane had passed the ball to Kenji, but it was a very high pass. But since Kenji is a very good ace, he managed to catch the ball (barely) and he sprinted to the end zone and made the first touchdown of the game.

Timeskip: last minute of 4th quarter

Johzenji was losing badly; the score was 28:12. However, Johzenji currently had the ball and were going for a 32 yard attempt field goal. The ball barely made it in between the posts just as the final whistle blew. The final score was 28:15, Date Tech taking the win.

Johzenji slowly lined up and the two teams told each other thank you for the game. Johzenji then left the field and went back to their bus to go back to their school.

You watched as Date Tech celebrated their win and surrounded their captain. Aone and Kenji attempted to do a chest bump but it just ended up with Kenji on the ground. Aone went up to him to try to help him up, but Kenji just put his hand out as in "don't bother me" and got up on his own.

Kamasaki, Moniwa, and Sasaya then got up and started going down the steps. You got up and went with them, not really sure of where they were going.

They went down to the field with the team. "Good job, you guys!" Moniwa told them.

Kenji went up to them and thanked them. He then abruptly stopped as he noticed you, his smile fading quickly. You tensed up and tried leaving, but he quickly caught up to you and grabbed your hand.

"Hey, I don't want things to be awkward between us now. Please." He begged, still holding onto your hand. You let out a small gasp and looked down at his large gloved hand holding onto your much smaller free hand.

You swallowed nervously before responding. "Yeah, of course."

He gave you a small genuine smile. "Hey, you're wearing my jacket!" He pointed out.

"Oh, sorry!!" You quickly exclaimed. "Here you can take it back if you'd like." You said, taking off the jacket and handing it back to him.

"Thank you, I will take it back." He told you, taking the jacket from you. "But for now," he started. You looked up at him curiously, "you can wear it and have it with you." He finished, handing his jacket back to you.
