It was finally Friday. You were halfway through the day, sitting with a few friends that you had made at lunch, Futakuchi sitting with his friends for the first time in a while.
As a few of your friends blabbered to each other, you thought about the week: Terushima hadn't texted you at all, Rin continued to text you daily and Kenji was becoming one of your bestest friends, which made you feel even worse for having to choose one over the other.
After thinking about it a lot over the week, you decided to go with Kenji instead, since a dance is an occasional thing that can't be easily changed. You would just simply tell Rintaro that something unexpectedly came up and that you would be unable to go with him and would have to reschedule.
"Hey, you good?" You immediately looked up to see Kenji behind you. "I just glanced over at you to see you looking all weird and shit. Everything good?"
"Y-yeah." You replied. "You don't need to baby me, I'm perfectly fine." He gave you a skeptical look in return.
"Hmm." He hummed in thought. "Can you help me practice football a bit?" He asked.
"What? How would we do that?" You asked him.
"We just go outside." You groaned at the thought of the outside. "Come on, all you have to do is throw the ball to me." He explained.
"Why don't you ask Obara or Tarou?" You questioned.
"They said no." He responded, as if planning the conversation beforehand. You sighed before finally giving in.
"Yay!" He quickly grabbed your tray for you and threw it away. "Lez go!"
You followed him outside and he led you to the football field.
"Couldn't we just have practiced over there? Did we really have to come all the way over here?" You asked him.
"No, we didn't have to, I just wanted to." Kenji replied. "Hey, can you follow me again please?"
"Omg, where to now?!" You groaned. This time he led you to the field house. "Why are we going here?"
"To get a football, duh!"
"I thought varsity football players carried one in their backpack with them, like in the movies!"
"Yeah, no."
"Too much walking!" You complained. He turned around to look at you. You couldn't help but notice how he looked at you a bit different this time, kind of lovingly if you will.
"Well, too bad. Suck it up, buttercup." Kenji said. You had reached the field house and he led you to the boys locker room. Your heart dramatically sped up and you started getting nervous, wondering why he was leading you here.
(A/n: no, don't get the wrong idea)
"Wait here." He told you, making you a bit more calm with the knowledge that he didn't make you go in with him. "Alright, I got it." Kenji announced as he came back out with a football and his jacket. "Now we can go back, and also you could wear this if you'd like." He offered, handing you his jacket. "You looked super cold earlier." You gave him a small thanks and shyly put on his jacket. You let out a small sigh as the jacket had his scent of cologne on it.
Once you got back to the field you seperated yourselves a bit so that you could have space to throw the ball. "Here ya go!" He warned you before the throwing the ball. You caught it with ease and was about to throw it back before feeling something weird on it.
"What happened?" He asked jogging up to you. You shrugged your shoulders and turned the ball over to see a note.
"Will you be my girlfriend? Sorry if it's too early still, I just caught feelings for you like a lot." It read. You quietly gasped in surprise.
