Scene No. 5

--WITH TOPAZ AND YUKO--

Topaz wakes up. He'd fallen asleep with Golowen curled around him, DIYing a bed. The cast that Faith had made for him yesterday has crusted over, but all the pain has left.

Yuko is fast asleep still, on the softest patch of grass she could find, with her dæmon in her arms.

Topaz stands up and fumbles over to Yuko. he peers over her, arching his back so that his head is dangling

Topaz: "Hi"

Yuko very gently starts stirring, turning over and then going back to her deep sleep again.

Topaz: "Guess what, everyone else is gone. Do you think the trees took them?"

Yuko: "Ngh...?"

She forces her eyes open and sits up, rubbing her eyes.

Yuko: <Mumbling sleepily> "What'd you say?"

Topaz: "Everyone's gone. Capiche? It was the trees!"

Yuko: "What about the trees? Wait what? Are you sure you aren't just mistaking them for rocks or something?"

She stands up with a yawn.

Topaz: "Nah. Your friendos are not here. Or maybe they're not your friends. Maybe they're monkeys! One of them looked like one. I think- "

Yuko: <Snickering> "They certainly acted like monkeys" <Looking around> "Wait, there really is no one here!"

Topaz shakes his head, making exaggerated 'tut tut tut' sounds.

Topaz: "Told ya!"

Yuko: "Where did they all go? Did they ditch us?"

She starts running around the area, searching for them.

Golowen: "I hope not. I was hoping to prove how insane this dude is to the feisty one"

Topaz: <Patting Golowen's head> "Its definitely the trees"

Yuko: "Did they seriously ditch us?! What are we supposed to do?!"

Yuko begins to get angry, panicked and worried all at once.

Golo sniffs the air.

Golowen: "Fletcher is the one that smells like he's been in the woods so long that he's never had a shower before, right? 'Cause I have a trail"

Yuko: "Oh, that's great, we can find them that way. Okay, lead the way!"

Topaz: "Oo, sounds like fun!"

Golo scoops up Topaz and the bag of clunking metal onto his broad back. With a knowing gaze to Yuko, he says,

Golowen: "He can barely walk in a straight line"

Yuko: "Yeah...it seems that way

Golowen: <Sniffing the air> "This way"

He trots over the detritus and roots, topaz giggling on his back. This time, he was nattering something about willow trees.

Yuko: "Okay!"

She makes sure to follow exactly where he goes and not get lost.

Golowen hops over a creek (Which is made hard due to his malformed limbs) and his wings are constantly moving to prevent Topaz from falling. It is almost mesmerizing to view the routine- one foot, right wing shuffle, other foot, left wing shuffle.

Yuko: "Hold on hold on, I can't jump over this!"

She makes an abrupt stop next to it.

Golowen: "Why not?"

Yuko: "Its too far!"

Golowen: "Its two feet. Cant you jump."

Topaz: "Yes, do jump! Into the clouds, heehee- "

Yuko: "Don't mock me! What if I fall?"

Golowen: "You wont. Or, if you'd like, I can use this blundering idiot as a pillow"

Yuko: "I might! I'll get myself all dirty!"

Golowen: "...Your friends are gone and your main concern is how dirty you'll be?"

Yuko: "...You have a point...but if I fall its your fault!"

She takes a running leap, and, surprise surprise, simply lands gracefully on the other side with no trouble.

Golowen: "See? What did I tell you"

Golo's expression was contorted into a...proud dad face? What on earth-

Topaz: <clapping> "Clouds!"

Golowen: "Alright, follow me"

Again, he starts into the woods. He uses his tail to clear the sticks in Yuko's way, but keeps his wings busy with Topaz

Golowen: "Sweeping the floor makes sure we can see the way back"

Yuko follows him the whole way, making sure he is always in sight.

Golowen: "Hey, Yuko. What's up there?"

He gestures towards a house, standing alone between the trees.

Topaz: "It's...a tree! And another one! Oh, god, there's so many!"

Golowen: "Shh"

Yuko: "I don't know...I didn't realise there was a house out here"

Golowen: "The trail stops just about here, so I assume that's where they are"

Yuko: "Okay, that makes sense. Why are they here though?"

Topaz: "Lets go in guns blazin! Like in the movieeesss"

Golowen: "I don't know, but it doesn't seem friendly. I mean- Mizuki literally had a gun"

Yuko: "Well then...lets get going"

She pushes down any unsure feelings about it and moves forward.

Golowen: "C'mon, then. Where's the door?"

He tastes the air while scaling the building with his eyes.

Golowen: "Well. No windows either. Definitely not ominous"

Golo carefully slides Topaz down his wing, onto a bed of mossy grass.

Golowen: "Yuko, want to come with me?"

Yuko: "N-no...I think I'll stay out here..."
