Scene No. 6

——WITH FERRIS AND MIZUKI——

Mizuki: "Fletcher! Please come into my room"

Fletcher: "Why? What's happening? I hear something outside"

Mizuki: "Please come here. NOW!"

She comes down the stairs, carrying a bunch of perfumes.

Fletcher: "No. I'm not going with you. I'm going to open the door and let whoever it is inside"

He swings the door open, and, standing in the light, is Topaz and his dæmon.

Mizuki stares them down.

Golowen: "Yo"

Fletcher: "Topaz?? What're you doing here?"

Topaz: "Trees- "

He chokes on his spit.

Fletcher laughs, pushing past Mizuki towards them.

Mizuki throws all the perfume bottles down and drags Fletcher away with her.

Mizuki: "You're coming with me"

Fletcher: "I- WOAH!"

The smashed bottles throw conflicting scents into the air. Being a komodo, Golo is utterly confused.

Mizuki fires a gunshot at Topaz's dæmon.

Fletcher struggles against her grasp, knocking the gun slightly off aim.

Mizuki: "Ugh. HEY!"

Fletcher: "For god's sake! Don't shoot him too!"

Golowen: "Hey. Feisty. Don't make me crack your skull"

Mizuki: "I'll crack yours first if I have to"

Fletcher is half blinded with perfume in his eyes, coughing against the smell. He grasps for the doorway, and, finding a hold, hangs tightly on.

Golo still can't move. He tries blocking his senses, but the smells are still too much to handle. Topaz, of course, is still happily gurgling on the ground.

Mizuki She fires multiple gunshots at all of them.

Fletcher barrels into Mizuki, knocking the gun from her hand and punching blindly.

Fletcher: "TOPAZ. Sort out your fucking dæmon and HELP ME!"

Finally getting the memo, Topaz sits up.

Topaz: "Golo. Trees say it's time to go."

Golowen: "You don't think I know that? Drag me out of this fucking scent bomb."

Being the most useful he's ever been, Topaz drags Golo out of the area of cracked glass and liquid.

Mizuki: "HOLD STILL. this won't hurt"

Golowen: "Don't you-"

She injects some tranquilliser into Fletcher

Fletcher: "NOT AGAIN- "

Fletcher collapses again, falling hard against the wooden floor.

Mizuki Gathers him and Koda up, rushing into the forest.

Golo tries to bound after Mizuki, yet trips on his claws. Curse this terrible body. Topaz comes to his senses, getting up and looking around. For the first time in ages, he seems aware.
