A couple months pass [January - past Christmas] and at this point Doc is good friends with everyone and is known to be the person who shows up early for parties and gatherings as well as working extra time for NHO and filling the other's shifts when their sick. He had really warmed up to HermitVille
Grian catches the Jangler [cough cough Scar cough cough]. Scar Decided in that moment, They'd totally fit in with the other Hermits. Maybe I should show them around and get their opinion!
When they arrived he introduced Grian and Mumbo to everyone. Including Doc. Big oof. They decided to move in together. Poor Doc. Doc slowly Started to distance himself from everyone until The only times he'd be outside is for essential only [aka walking pets, buying human and pet essentials] Everyone was getting concerned. Every time he was out he was stopped by one or two of the hermits for small talk and to check on him. He'd have to book it if he saw Grian but that was it.
Joe decide to host a barbeque and everyone was invited. When Doc didn't show up within 5 minutes before to help set up [like he normally does] Joe called Ren to Check on him [They're next door neighbors]. Also if Doc were to answer anyone it would be his best friend and NHO.
