Monday
The two men and their argument was exactly what Hyunmi needed to wake herself up. She feels refreshed now and pulls out her lunch in a lively manner. She then proceeds to open it and take a few bites while typing quickly.
She sighs loudly as she picks up her phone. What is she even checking? She doesn't have anyone to be texting right now. She decides that she needs to meet her neighbours properly, needing more acquaintances.
Wooyoung's face flashes through her mind- specifically his face as he was only a few centimetres away from her face and she grimaces. Maybe she'll only meet with her other neighbour.
Could she try to finish work early today to meet them? No, she already left work early the last time and still needs to make up fot that. Showing up to her neighbour's house at nine at night probably won't set a very good first impression.
Whatever, she'll just have to meet them on the weekend.
More hours of work later, she's finally done for the day. She tiredly shuts down her computer and rubs her eyes. Mondays are always the worst. She extinguishes the scented candle and exits her office, locking it up while smothering more lip balm on her lips. Her lips only feel drier and drier, she definitely needs to drink more water too.
She walks through the other office and waves everyone goodbye while they clean up in their cubicles. There's a clear divide in the atmospheres in the room. The right side of the room contains Seonghwa and glows brightly. The left side however has Jongho and Mingi, making Hyunmi nearly feel a cold breeze coming from there.
Seonghwa waves to her, to which she responds happily.
On the other hand, Jongho shoots her a dirty look and Mingi simply ignores her existence, continuing to finish up his work. Hyunmi gets a shiver down her spine and speeds past everyone to the door.
"Hyunmi!"
The girl freezes and turns hesitantly to the sound of her boss. She watches him hurry in her direction before freezing and turning to Jongho. "Don't forget to submit the file I asked for. If it's late this time too I'll seriously fire you," Hongjoong reminds Jongho, eyebrows furrowed. Jongho nods nervously.
The boss continues to Hyunmi and Jongho lifts his head, watching the pair while shooting daggers at them.
"Good work today! Do you have plans for dinner?" he suddenly blurts. The scoffs from the other workers in the room go unnoticed by him and Hyunmi's eyes widen.
"Y-Yeah, sorry but I'm busy," she stutters. This is the first time he's said something like this in front of everyone.
His smile falls a bit. "That's fine! Drive safely and goodnight!" he exclaims. Hyunmi thanks him and rushes out the door, nearly running down the stairs of the building. The way Hongjoong behaves really does give everyone the wrong impression. No wonder why Jongho hates her.
She drives home at a steady pace. Very quickly, her mind travels back to her neighour as she looks at the setting sun in the sky. Is she going to think about him every time it gets dark? She shakes her head and tries to think about something else, like work.
However, her mind is still preoccupied with Wooyoung's lips, no matter how much she tries to distract herself.
Even as she enters her home and snuggles into her blanket, Wooyoung won't leave her mind.
He makes it even worse for her when the pounding of the wall begins for the night.
Sunday
The entire week passes by in a flash, nothing special happening. Just the same old routine at work.
