His Promises

"J-Jacob?" I said when I saw his feature that look like him. "D-Dawn? W-what are you doing here?" He speak trembling. "P-please dont misunderstand it s-she's only a--"

"A friend? Then what? You'll ask me to never leave you?" I said cutting him. "My Queen..." He said calling me

"Stop. Dont you dare call me like that Jacob. Tell me now, in front of her, how many girls did you gave promise that you will never leave them and told that you loved them?" I said set asiding the hurt I've been feeling.

"I...." He look down as if he dont know what to say. "Forget it, I think I already know the answer" I walk away from him, and as soon as my back face him I tried not to cry but my tears keep coming.

When I reach the park, I cried. All I thought he was already the one. The one who will be at my side until we grow old. Maybe, they are right, I shouldn't follow it. I should just let the love come for me and dont give it all.

Flashback

I saw him, he was a great basketball player and very popular to our school. I have a huge crush for him. And there's this time, I make myself brave and gave him a letter.

"OHH!!" shouted by his team mates, soon as I gave it to him. He accept it, though I'm getting shy. Then, after that day he always approaches me.

He was acting literally like my boyfriend. But, not always... He hides me from his team. He hides me from the school as if we were just friends. When I always ask him when will he meet my family, he was always busy. When I ask him when will I meet his, he always answered they are away. Well, if its about us, I understand cause we're not in a relationship...yet.

Then one time, "I love you sweetcake. I will never leave you. I'm sorry if I'm always busy, I just don't find time for you though I'm trying. But here" he then take my hand and he kneels down. "are you willing to be my official girlfriend?"

I actually said yes without thinking cause...why would I disagree if my crush is actually the one asking? And it was actually my first, so, I can't help it.

We were acting sweet all the time but when so many people are looking at him or us, he was acting like he don't want others to see him with me.

Everyday, minute by minute I always saw him talking with his phone. He always answer it...answering when I'm not near. He walks aways before answering.

One day, I caught him kissing another girl. He will whisper to her and the girl will giggles. I get suspicious to him. I planned to be away from him for a month but trying to follow him in hidden.

Present

My suspicion is right. He never loved me, he only toys me. And now I face him. That's why I face him now if only...if only I--

"So, he's done with you huh?" I heard this voice and when I look up I saw Vince Andrew Smith. He's a basketball player too like Jacob. I sniff and wipe my tears when he sit next to me. He gave me his handkerchief, and though I'm shy I accept it.

"She chooses him over me..." he started that's why I look at him. "W-who?" I ask. "Ask your ex-playboy boyfriend" he answered. That's when I realise he was talking to the girl earlier. I can't find my words to say at the moment. "Guess, I'm not that beautiful for his taste" I shrugged and laugh sadly.

"Dawn huh?" he said and look at me. "Its Dawn Queen" I answered. He just nodded and we eaten by silent again. "Hey, can you listen to my song right now?" he said cutting the long silence between us, showing his guitar which I didn't noticed earlier.

I nodded to him and he smiled. He let out his guitar and tuned it and started singing while strumming.

I was so amazed by his singing. Its saw flawless like he was a actual singer. I didn't know even what to say.

When he was done, I stay like that for a sec before lifting my head. "Vince?" I called him. "Yeah?" he answered. "Can you...sing for me always until I healed? Its okay if--" I asked shyly but being cut by him. "Sure, I promise to sing to you until you're completely healed" he said that make me smiled.
