——————————————————

the obligation of having to go to college definitely burdens ricky. he never had any intentions of going because he was not interested, at all. none of his family graduated, yet they were all so successful that sometimes he wondered what did his parents do to make money before they have their current business.

of course, ricky doesn't know anything about his parents, basically the bowens, were a part of the so-called famous gang "the silvers". he knew about the gang and what they do, but he never saw how the gang members looked like. to be completely honest, it intrigued him.

his parents had been teaching him self-defense ever since he was a kid. the reason being was mike and lynne wanted him to be independent and brave person who can defend himself whenever he's going through a terrifying or unexpected event.

little did he know that wasn't the real reason

yes, mike and lynne had offically signed out from the gang life, but that doesn't mean they want their past to be erased, they want their son to continue their journey, passing the throne.

"earth to ricky!"

ricky who was in lots of thoughts were woken up by gina porter, his best friend even before they were born.

"what?" he asked confusedly

"my parents asked me to come home tomorrow  morning and they said it's urgent. then they told me you, ash, and seb must go home too." gina told him

ricky raised his eyebrows, "that's weird, i didn't get- oh."

ricky's words were cut off by himself as he quickly checked the most recent text from lynne, telling him the exact same thing that gina's parents told her.

"did they forgot that we have classes tomorrow?" gina asked confusedly as she multi-tasked working on her assignment

ricky scoffed, "i don't care, we're skipping!"

"you have a point there," gina said while chuckling, "but i can bet ash and seb are panicking right now."

"oh, true. the obedient duo." ricky said with a laugh

"i don't get that they are the completely opposite from us, yet the four of us are best friends."

"i really want to make them get out from their comfort zones. it's so boring seeing them study." ricky admitted while brushing his hair with his hands

gina nodded in agreement, "i don't get where do they get the attitude, though. i mean ash and seb's parents are like ours. i'm starting to think they're adopted."

"who's adopted?" ashlyn's voice appeared from their back

they were currently at the campus outdoor area where students usually use to just hang around on the grass doing their individual activities.

"you two." ricky answered bluntly

seb scoffed lightly, "you two must be talking about how ash and i are 'obedient' students."

gina laughed as she pat seb's shoulders, "you know us so well."

"oh, by the way, did your parents text-"

"yes." gina and ricky quickly answered

"and yes, you two must go home too, no exceptions." ricky quickly said

"but we have an important quiz tomorrow!" seb whined loudly

both gina and ricky gave them a blank expression, "do we look like we care?"
