#Pooja's POV
I am gonna love you.......... Like a black widow baby!!!!!
I wake up to the ringing of my alarm. I mean blasting. Shutting the darn thing off, I call out for Maria to get my coffee. It takes me a few moments to realize that there isn't any Maria here.
I open my eyes at the unfamiliar surroundings and think for a few minutes until comprehension dawns on me. I am alone and in a stranger city. I have to start my college tomorrow and today I am alone in this city to shop for essentials. Wearing my glasses, I make my way to the kitchen.
I switch the coffee machine on as I check my phone for any messages from dad.
Phew! Not yet.I take my coffee to the balcony and got my first view of the city.
Speechless!I can see skyscrapers till miles. On the road are thousands of people off to their daily routine. My mum was right. It's a fabulous city. Stretching beyond eyes can reach
Okay, now my plan for the day. I have to shop for clothes and books. It's my first day in college tomorrow.
I am dreading it. New surroundings and new people has always been a weakness for me. trust me to goof up on every step and opportunity.
I will think about that tonight. I need a plan of action.
I take my clothes and head for a much needed shower. I dress up in a comfy blue jeans and a simple white t-shirt which has FEARLESS written on it.
Right, how ironic! In reality, I am scared .
I towel dry my hair and sit by the dresser to apply my makeup. It comprises of a thin line of kohl to make my eyes look bigger and some strawberry flavored lip gloss. I tie my hair in a ponytail and put my black nerdy glasses. I am satisfied with my appearance. I may not be all that special looking but I love myself. That's what my mom has taught me. Not drop dead gorgeous model- like.
Always be happy with yourself.
I smile and gather some confidence and head out of the house to shop and explore some bit of the city.
Thanks to my research on this city, I know exactly where I will find my stuff. I do not forget to pack my map in case I get lost.
I call for an auto rickshaw (it's a cool three wheeler public transport) and head to my first destination. It's named Forever 21 and apparently one of the coolest fashion store for the college crowd. As I enter the shop, I know why it's the coolest. Wow! Rows and rows of clothes, accessories and shoes. I pick a few items to try on like jeans, t-shirts, dress (just a couple) and shorts (as nightwear). The trial process takes me over an hour and I am tired. I pay from my dad's card and call out for an auto rickshaw again.
As soon as I sit inside, my phone rings.
Dad! Crap."You are up early and shopping?"
Damn you technology!
"Good morning to you too dad!"
"Pooja", he sighs. " Good morning, I am impressed. You have already made friends and are out shopping. I am proud of you."
"Err, dad I am alone. It's a shop near to where I live and it in a mall. very safe." I say brightly.
"Are you on your own?" he scoffs."Oh right! I am not at all panicking." he mutters darkly. "So how's your day been so far?"
