Chapter 8

Antonio couldn't understand why Lelouch started tearing up. He didn't do anything wrong. Did he? Antonio got up from the ground and walked over to Lelouch, hugging him. "Please don't cry mister....it makes me sad." He whispered before pulling back shyly. Lelouch knew that he would have to get his emotions in check and take care of his love until he gets his memories back. "I'm not crying, everything is fine now. Are you hungry?" Antonio shook his head but spotted the pod on the ground next to Lelouch.

He pointed at it, "What's that?" Lelouch looked to where he pointed and sighed. "Well..it's a pod to carry something." Antonio opened his mouth slightly before closing it shut, "What's inside?" He then asked. Lelouch controlled his snarl, not liking that Antonio is asking a lot of questions. Suddenly, the pod rocked a little, making Antonio scared and jumping back a bit.

Lelouch squatted down and opened the pod, taking Anthony out of it and settling him on his hip before closing and securing the pod. "It's fine. This baby is called Anthony." Antonio looked at the baby falling asleep again. "He looks like you." Antonio commented with a smile. Lelouch shrugged and turned around, "Hold the pod for me. We're going to find a place to sleep." Antonio nodded his head and did as he's told.

The two walked for a while in silence, with Lelouch trying to find some sort of way to get back to the little home the two stayed in when they first met. Anthony started to stir and just as Antonio was about to let Lelouch know, the other male stopped abruptly and kept his mouth shut. Handing the baby to Antonio as he ran to the nearest bush to start vomiting. Antonio looked down at the sleeping baby gurgling. 'Huh...he's cute!' Antonio thought.

But his attention turns back to Lelouch, who has since finished and was walking back towards the two. "Sorry, it seems like I will feel nauseous here and there," he soon spotted a stray horse just standing there....perfect, "Alright. We're moving now, I spotted a horse. Make sure you don't drop the baby or the pod. Understood?" Antonio nodded his head.

When they reached the horse, Lelouch got on and took hold of Anthony. "Why aren't you getting on? To be honest, your getting quite annoy-" Lelouch stopped when he saw a deep frown on Antonio's face. The other man places the pod on the horse and turned around. He started to walk somewhere else. "Don't follow me. I don't want to be a burden. You said it yourself, I'm annoying. It's quite...pathetic, already a nuisance even though we just met. Dad and uncle are right, I'm horrible." With that, instead of walking, Antonio started to run away.

"Hey! Wait!" Lelouch yelled out, immediately mounting off, placing Anthony in the pod and locking it before running after Antonio. 'Crap! I just got him back and instead of being there with him and helping him, I act like this!' He scowled as Antonio started to pick up the pace and getting more farther away. Lelouch started being desperate and finally gave up. Falling to his knees, huffing and puffing heavily, trying to catch his breath as tears streamed down his face. He can't let the love of his life go again, even if he is mentally a child for now.

Lelouch wiped away his tears, "I'm sorry! You're not annoying! I...I just been through a lot!" Antonio stopped and looked back, his eyes widened a bit as he gasped, seeing tear tracks. He immediately turned back and ran until he was right in front of Lelouch. "Who..Who are you? How do..uh, never mind." Lelouch finally looked up at him with a small smile. "We are friends. I have known you for quite a while before...your accident. Now, are you ready to go on the horse?" Antonio stared at him and then the horse before answering, "Yes. Sure. Let's go, I'm hungry now." Lelouch chuckled.

"Okay. We will get food soon."

It took a long while and many mistakes, along with other mishaps. But finally, after seven hours, the three made it back to the forest and eventually, the hut. "It's good to be home." He looked behind him to see Antonio eating some fruit they picked earlier. Purple eyes looked fondly at his old home. "Alright, we've arrived." He stopped the horse and everyone got off.

Lelouch opens the door and is glad to see things still instant after all this time. Anthony crawled over to a couch, fully awake and active while. The baby giggles as he places his hands on the couch and lifts himself to stand on his feet. He screeched happily and looks behind at his mom, who only smiled, "Good job darling. I'm proud of you." Antonio walked inside slowly, looking around and basking in the scene.

"For some reason...this home seems familiar to me. Have we been here before?" Lelouch gasped quietly but quickly got ahold of himself. If he was Lelouch from the time before Antonio came back, then of course he would help his fiancée remember. But...his mind started to remember Antonio's death and how his love would be upset to learn that their plan came to nothing. At the end.

"No, just me and the baby." He finally answered Antonio. He looked down and spotted the engagement ring. "Oh...where did you get the ring?" Antonio's eyes widened this time as he looked down at that hand. The ring was really beautiful, it was what Lelouch got for Antonio after the other proposed to him. "I...don't know. But it's pretty!" Antonio answered with awe.

Lelouch smiled at Antonio, who has decided to get lost in the ring's beauty. He soon turned and decided to go inside their room. When he opened the door, the scent of lavender and strawberries hit his nose. Lelouch closed his eyes, breathing in and out slowly. It seemed like nothing changed, which is good.

Once he reached the bed and flopped himself on it, he lifted his right hand and watched as his ring twinkled from the now, night sky. He set his hand down and just laid there, closing his eyes. But they didn't stay shut for long, Anthony started to cry in the other room. Lelouch chuckled and rolled his eyes. He know this particular cry, his baby just misses him, that's all.

He gets up and opens the bedroom door, only to see Antonio desperately trying to calm the other down. "Aww, it's fine. I'm here, Anthony. I'm here, don't cry." Anthony quieted down as he looked up and recognized his mother. Lelouch picked the child up and cradled him close. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door.

"Hello? I thought I heard someone come in here."

Lelouch slammed his mouth shut and stood completely still.

Why is...Antonio's relative here?
