Chapter 16

Two years later...

All their friends from Ashford Academy were saddened to learn that Lelouch 'hastily moved to the United States of America to study at Harvard immediately after graduation.' That was why on that day, no one could locate him. But all of a sudden, on the day of the Zero Requiem, he appears as emperor and was...killed in front of their very eyes. Milly, Rivalz and even Nunnally on her days off as acting Empress, chose and are now attending BU(Britannia University).

"You know, I miss the good ol' days...but, not everything is meant to last forever huh." Milly said quietly, looking up to stare at the blank, gray-blue sky. Green grass gently brushed her legs while a gentle breeze made a single caress in her dirty blond hair. The spikyhaired boy looked at her with a sad smile, taking ahold one of her hands in both of his own. "But the people we have lost wouldn't want you to be sad, dear. Especially Shirley and...and..." Though the two learned of Lelouch's true intentions from Nunnally, Rivalz still couldn't bring himself to say the raven's name.

All of a sudden, Nunnally let in a soft but sharp intake of breath when she felt a hand touching her shoulder. She turned her head and looked up, only to smile slightly when her eyes laid on Suzaku. "So I see that Lelouch's notes, videos and textbooks have helped you be almost as advance as he is and make it to college, huh. I'm glad that you seem content here. Oh yeah, hello to you both as well." Milly and Rivalz greeted the man politely. "Suzaku, you need to be careful, no one should know that you're alive. The disguise is good but, just one look at your face..." Nunnally rambled on worriedly.

Suzaku chuckled lowly and bent slightly forward to hug the young empress from behind. "Aw, it's okay your majesty. I'm careful but," suddenly he became nervous while quietly and secretly gulping before continuing, "Schneizel and some of his forces know that I'm alive. But everything is fine, don't you worry. I can't wait till your twentieth birthday." Nunnally looked down and fumbled her fingers.

"Actually Suzaku...about that. I don't want to hold you back any longer. You deserve to have someone of your choosing who is already available for you. Not some young girl like me. I'm only eighteen and your twenty. Besides...I already know that you once had some sort of infatuation with Lelouch.....oh! I'm sorry, I darkened the mood haven't I? I will go now." With that, she moved her wheels back and rode away.

(Yeah, I know. But I just thought that it would be a bit better, interesting and most of all, inclusive to keep her in a wheelchair and only restore her eyesight.)

Milly and Rivalz looked at the male with sad but sympathetic eyes as Suzaku fell on his knees, devastated. Still having a shock expression on his face. Though him and Nunnally weren't officially together and were only in a budding romance/flirtationship(due to age and the law), the empress basically dumped him. At least that's how he can call this pain he's feeling now.

Milly hugged him before her and Rivalz got up and said goodbye before heading for their next class. After a few more minutes, Suzaku got up and wiped away the tears hanging onto his eyelashes. The royal family is really hard to deal with when it comes to romance. That is one of the few things that Lloyd got correct.

"Don't worry my empress, I will still protect you with my life. That's a promise I made to your brother and most of all, to you."

Three little Lelouch's were running away from a slightly bigger but still smaller version of Lelouch. The older one of the four growled out, "Give meh back mah caundyyyy! Now! Mama!" A brown door opened to the children's bedroom, revealing a slightly annoyed Lelouch.

"Anthony, Octavian, Theodore and Nunnally...how many times do I have to tell you four to stop fighting and making such a fuss. Plus, what is this I hear about candy?" The triplets quickly hid their hands behind their backs, trying to feign 'innocence.' But of course, they knew that their mama knew the actual truth. "Hand it over." Lelouch simply but firmly commanded. The triplets listened quickly and dropped the candy in their mother's hand without complaint or any other looks and noise.
