I had my face buried in my locker, looking for my chemistry book, when I heard a familiar voice behind me. "Join me and we'll build my new Lego Death Star." I recognized the voice immediately and turned around. It was my best friend, Ned. We grew up together and have known each other forever.
My parents went to the same school as his dad and that's why we met when we were babies. There was a short time where we didn't like each other because we saw each other so often but that changed when we went to Elementary school.
Some people would say we are boring and awkward for liking Star Wars and Lego with 17 but in my opinion, it's pretty awesome.
"What?!" I asked excitingly, almost hitting my head against my locker door. The group of girls standing next to us started laughing and one of them gave me such a weird look that I decided to ignore them.
"No way. That's so cool! How many pieces?" I asked, ignoring the returning waves of laughter.
"3807," he said proudly and held up a little Darth Vader figure. I took it and mumbled softly
"That's insane!" He nodded proudly and asked me if I wanted to build it tonight.
"Sure," I said excitingly, closing the door of my locker.
"You can come over and maybe Thor can help us again," I said with a smirk on my lips.
"No! Thor is not helping. Last time he dropped it" Ned protested.
"I know Ned. That was a joke. We can do it at yours" I laughed and punched him in his side slightly.
We began to walk through the crowded halls when the bell rang. Everyone around us was trying to get to class fast, pushing around each other.
"I heard that we have a new student in our school and apparently she is going to our class," Ned told me while we pushed through all those people.
"Really? I asked wondering who would change school in the middle of the year.
"Yeah! It's kind of weird. Who would change school in the middle of the year?" he questioned.
Suddenly he stopped walking and grabbed my arm. Confused I stopped and searched for what he was looking at. My eyes went over the crowded hallway and stopped on a girl. She was laughing with Emma, Liz, and MJ which made her eyes light up. Her eyes were green, matching her white dress with green flowers on it. Her brown hair fell down to her chest, with soft waves.
She was beautiful.
"She is so pretty" Ned whispered and I nodded. After a few seconds, I took my eyes off her realizing how weird it is and punched Ned in his side. He blinked and looked at me. He looked back and I followed his gaze, realizing that he was looking at Emma and not at the new girl. I laughed and pulled him past the girls.
At the end of the hallway, I waved at Ned who walked into another hallway, while I went into the chemistry room. I sat down and put my books on the table. A few seconds later our teacher came into the room, shouting at Flash. "Quiet! Please sit down Flash I have to introduce you to someone". Flash sat down in front of me, rolling his eyes dramatically.
