The sun started to rise and cascaded shades of colors raging between yellows and blues. It shined towards to once was known as the 'Valley of Death' before two shinobis went rampage towards each other, wrecking the stoned statue of the Konoha founders. Atop the wreck were two people, two comrades, two best friends whom both seemed to be connected by the pool of blood gushing out of each of their arm—signifying their bonds are thicker than water.
A pair of ocean eyes looked at the scenery in front of him. The pain he felt from his arm cannot compare to the warmth he felt in his heart. He finally feel the love he's been chasing for years, he finally brought him home.
With an eye as dark as coal and another shining like amethyst, he looked at the blonde-headed idiot on his left. Who knew that this kid who once can't summon a shadow clone is the same kid that saved him. Looking back at the sky he thought of his older brother, is this what love feels like, onisan?
After sharing their pain and burdens a few hours ago, with Naruto drilling the idea that he is family to Sasuke, they couldn't believe that they were still in the same spot, alive and breathing.
"You don't how much pain can make a person love more. Often chasing their dreams to find happiness they've been longing and questioning if its worth it in the end. There are times this love can only hurt you, but when it's returned, that's where you'll look at the infinite sky and think that you'd never want to let go."
Sasuke was confused at first why Naruto suddenly mentioned this, thinking that he was already done with his speeches a while ago before they fell on deep slumber due to exhaustion and loss of blood. But when he saw the pinkette going to their way with worry in her eyes, he knew what Naruto meant.
Kneeling down between them and face filled with empathy for their situation, she directed her hands to each of them and a green glow appeared, healing the missing arms of her teammates.
"As expected from Sakura-chan! You're always here to save our asses from death." Naruto laughed to indirectly tell Sakura that they're fine and she should stop having worry plastered on her face.
"Shut up. I'm trying to concentrate." Sakura knew what Naruto was trying to do and she silently thanked him for that. Her and Naruto usually have this telepathic understanding between each other.
"Sakura..." Sasuke called with a raspy voice. "I'm sorry..... for everything."
It was enough to break her apart. All those years of locking her pain is finally unlocked. The tears she couldn't show to Sasuke when she was with team Hebi were now flowing down her cheeks.
Sasuke felt more guilty as he felt those tears were obviously bottled for years. Naruto was right, pain can make a person love more.
As the kunoichi helped the brothers sit up, a silver-haired man appeared and looked at his students with tenderness in his eyes. An image of young Rin, Obito and himself appeared in his eyes. He found himself another family to protect.
Now standing up, team 7 has officially reunited. While Naruto was in his usual loud self with Kakashi just looking at him smiling and pretending to be listening, Sakura felt a hand circle her wrist. She looked at the bruised and swollen man with one onyx eye in anticipation. He then gently pulled her towards his chest, extending his one good arm around her shoulders and cried as he buried his head on her shoulders.
"Thank you, Sakura."
Sakura cried again because she felt the sincerity in his tone. She felt his regret for causing her harm multiple times. She felt the pain he's been carrying for years. She felt his gratefulness towards her for staying by his side. She felt everything. Even though it were just two simple words and her name that came out of his lips, it was enough. It was more than enough.
