The next morning, I woke up. Or, rather, I woke up in the middle of the night, it seemed. I opened my eyes slightly, taking in the dark sky, and the stars. At this, my eyes widened and I jolted up, instantly screaming in pain. My back was killing me. In fact, my entire body felt sore and almost…hot. I looked in my hand and saw that the key was there. I felt my neck and felt that the locket was gone. I got up and looked around. I was in a deep hole in the ground, and in the middle of a forest. I sighed and climbed out the hole, looking around me.
“Where am I…?” I muttered to myself, wandering around. I decided that the best way to figure out, was to get out of here.
……
After a while of aimless walking, I finally came across a town. I walked out and looked around, seeing that to my right, there was a town. And to my left, nothing. I walked out, getting a better look at everything. There was a sidewalk that I ended up standing on, and in front of me was a road. There wasn’t a single car on the road. I walked out cautiously, and sighed.
“Seriously, where am I?” I looked in my pocket, wondering if there was any clue as to where I was, and pulled out my cell phone. But, I saw that it was now broken. I frowned.
“Oh, come on!” I said, sighing irritably. I looked at the town. Right now, it was my best bet. I walked out, and heard a horn and turned, my eyes widening to see a car. It was then that I was hit. I couldn’t feel any pain. I fell on the ground and blacked out.
……
When I woke up the next morning, I couldn’t hear a thing. But, I did notice a ceiling, and that I was on a bed. I also didn’t really feel anything. That was either a really good thing, or a really bad thing. After all, last night, I remember waking up in the middle of a forest in a crater for some reason, walking out, and getting hit by a car. I got up and winced slightly, trying my best not to yell in pain, and fell back down into bed. My right arm was in so much pain. I heard the door opening and closed my eyes. I thought it was best to pretend that I wasn’t awake yet. I heard the foot steps stopping right in front of the bed I was sleeping on.
“…You can stop pretending you’re asleep, I know you’re awake. You’re not snoring.” He said, his voice sounding oddly familiar. I opened my eyes, and promptly widened them in shock, seeing who was there, staring at me with a confused expression. He had his long silver hair, instead of the other styles I’ve seen, and his bangs still covered his bright aqua colored eyes, the same look from Kingdom Hearts 2. It was Riku from Kingdom Hearts. I slowly got up, then winced again.
“Don’t overdo it, I think Sora hit you pretty good in your right arm when he was driving.” He said, causing me to look at him. Sora? He hit me with a car?! What was this, some kind of fanfiction?! He sat down in a nearby chair.
“Alright, what’s going on? We saw you. You just emerged out of those woods, and I know for a fact that no one would live there, especially not someone who looks my age.” He said, and I frowned.
“…Well?” He asked. He seemed a bit angry. Then again, I survived a car crash with what seemed to be only a broken arm. I also just walked out of the woods, and was probably taking up his bed. That thought made my eyes widen. I was in a Kingdom Hearts character’s bed. I looked away and thought about this. I was in a place where Kingdom Hearts characters were real. Did that mean that the Final Fantasy characters were real, too? No, no, this had to be a dream…then again, the pain in my right arm a while ago told me otherwise…then maybe a projection? Or something! This couldn’t be happening. Even though most would disagree with wanting their favorite characters to be fake, I wanted to see if I was either going crazy…before I got my hopes up to high.
