Walking around with Sora and Riku was very fun. Sora didn’t even talk as much as I thought he would.

“Oh, and down there is the shopping district. We only know that because Kairi and our moms take us there to shop with them.” Sora said, causing me to giggle a little. Riku rolled his eyes, then looked like he realized something.

“Speaking of Kairi, how is she?” He looked at me.

“She took a few days off to visit her grandma because she was feeling a little sick. We’re allowed 3 days off of school, so long as we have a written excuse, and if it’s a good one. Since her grandma is her caretaker, that was how she got those 3 days off. Also, the 3 days off don’t count as our sick days. Those are different, you have to have a note from your parent or guardian for it to count, and the number is unlimited, so long as it’s a legitimate excuse, and the note isn’t forged.” He explained, as I nodded. Sora smiled.

“She’s alright. Her grandma got better today, too. But, when I asked her if she wanted to do anything today, she said that she wanted to make sure her grandma was alright for when she goes to school tomorrow.” Riku nodded.

“Understandable.”

“Riku!” He stopped dead in his tracks, shuddering.

“Oh, no…” I saw an arm around him and I saw someone which almost made me break down. There, alive and well with a smile on his face, was Zack Fair. He was alive here…thank God…Riku growled.

“What is it, Zack?” Zack smiled.

“What? I can’t say hello to a friend?” He asked, letting go. Riku sighed.

“Zack. You know as well as I do that I don’t like you.” He frowned.

“I still don’t get why. I like you just fine. Oh, hey Sora.” He said, Sora waving.

“Hey, Zack.” He looked at me, then smiled.

“So, who’s this? You never introduced me.” He said, walking toward me. Riku sighed.

“Why am I not surprised…” He muttered. Zack smiled.

“I’m Zack Fair. I hear you’re going to Destiny Island High? Well, allow me to say hello, and welcome to Destiny Island.” He said, a smile on his face. I wondered if he was lying, but he didn’t seem like it. He seemed genuinely friendly. Even to Riku and Sora, he seemed genuinely friendly. I smiled.

“Hey…I’m {Name} {Last Name}. Thanks.” I said, as he nodded. Riku sighed.

“I thought you were working with Axel at the office.” He nodded.

“I was…I just…took some time off…!” He said, shrugging.

“No big deal.” Riku blinked.

“…Meaning you got Axel to do it.” He nodded.

“Exactly.” Sora looked at him.

“Well, we were showing {Name} around town, so that she’ll know this place better.”

“Mind if I join you?” He asked excitedly, Riku growling. Sora smiled.

“That sounds alright, I’m sure {Name} would-”

“Actually, {Name} and I were going to go home to get these papers signed. Goodbye, Zack. See ya, Sora.” He said, dragging me away. I waved goodbye to both of them. I looked at Riku.

“Riku, what’s wrong? Why do you hate Zack?” Riku stopped. He looked over at Zack, who was talking with Sora, and made a face.

“He’s just…weird. He’s so unnaturally happy…like, all the time. At least Sora has his moments, but…like, even if he’s in second place, that just makes him more fired up. It’s weird.” He said, as I smiled.
