The sun shone onto Hermione's curly hair, which had Draco's pale fingers interlaced with a couple of strands of it. Hermione awoke with a Draco leaned back on the bench with his arm around her, she looked up at his sleeping face, she was happy, she had finally got what it had felt like to be touched by him.

Draco's eyes flickered open, he looked down to Hermione who was already smiling up at him.

"Good morning Granger", Draco smiles continuing to twirl his fingers in her hair.

"Morning Malfoy", Hermione grins getting up off his chest and stretching her arms up in the air.

"So any plans for today?", she says.

"I'll probably just hang out with Blaise today", Draco shrugs.

"What about you come and hang out with me? We were planning on pulling some pranks on the first years with Fred and George, you should co-", Hermione says before getting cut off.

"No, we are not hanging out, talking, or even smiling at each other in public, it can't happen, at least not yet", Draco says sternly.

Hermione's smile turns into a weak frown, "but Draco the ball, I thought maybe we could you know?", Hermione asks.

"What? Go together? No way that's happening, that's the most public place I know", Draco explains as Hermione bows her head.

"Look Granger, I do like you, but I can't announce this thing we have going on, my father would kill me, how about you take Weasley as a cover up, I know he's dying to take you", Draco laughs, before he leans over and kisses her forehead.

"We can have another meeting like this the night of the ball, and we can dance under the stars, it's not where you are, it's who you're  with", Draco says looking into Hermione's eyes before standing up off the bench.

They both dusted the snow off of themselves and made they're way back to their common rooms still in a daze of happiness about what happened last night.

"Malfoy where were you last night? Didn't see you come in?", Blaise asked Draco who was currently sitting on the sofa in the Slytherin common room.

"Oh yeah, I had detention with Snape, you know how long he likes to keep his students there", Draco says whilst fiddling with the rings on his fingers.

"You know, you've been acting kind of odd lately", Blaise says with a suspicious look on his face.

"Whatever you think Blaise, I couldn't care less", Draco scoffs.

Blaise continues to give Draco a suspicious stare but eventually goes back to reading his Potions book.

Draco kept thinking of last night, he couldn't believe he finally had her, the girl of his dreams, the girl he truly desired, Hermione.
He was feeling more confident being with her now that he knew she respected his decisions of keeping everything private, or so he thought.

Hermione was upset, more than upset, furious. She knew Draco had finally admitted his feeling towards her, but she was not at all happy about his decisions of keeping them a secret, she wanted everyone to know, she didn't care if his father knew, she wanted the whole world to know that Hermione and Draco where in love.

What she didn't realise was that if Draco's father knew, not only would there be no them, but there would be no Draco.
Lucius had a reputation, he was against muggleborns or so he called mudbloods and thought the wizarding world should be rid of them if he had the choice, but Hermione was oblivious.

So out of her anger and unusual stupidity, she decided she would be going to the ball , but not with Ron, but with someone that genuinely wanted to go with her. She thought this may make Draco see how happy they could be out in public, but little did she know, this was going to set him off, and ruin everything.

Currently they were in Professor McGonagall's class and were being taught how to dance.
Draco and Blaise were not too far from where Hermione and Angelina were sitting. They could hear all there giggling whispers and conversations.

"Fred asked me to the ball, I'm so excited I can't believe he asked me!", Angelina shrieked earning a giggle from Hermione.

"What about you Hermione, has Ron asked you? Wouldn't be surprised if he has, look at how he looks at you!", Angelina giggled.

"Actually I'm not going with Ron there's someone else", Hermione smiled.

She's not seriously about to out our relationship and go behind my back after I told her we couldn't tell anyone, Draco thought to himself, he was thinking that if she told anyone he may have to use the obliviate spell, and that was something he really didn't want to do.

"Who!", Angelina chanted.

"Viktor Krum!", Hermione beamed.

Draco gulped, and his breathing stopped, and suddenly his stomach was caving in.

"No way! Champion Viktor Krum,", Angelina giggled as Hermione blushed and nodded.

Draco's face was hit with jealousy he thought steam was about to come out of his ears.
She couldnt have picked someone a little more, poor? Like Weasley like he had suggested Draco thought.

The pit in Draco's stomach grew bigger as did the whole in his heart, why had Hermione agreed to go with Viktor and why was she so happy about it? Had last night meant nothing to her, was Draco dreaming it all up , had Hermione never really liked Draco and everything he thought was love was a hallucination?

Draco started to doubt himself, he could never compare to Viktor Krum, Triwizard Champion, Best seeker in the world, heck Draco was probably the worst seeker to exist. He started second guessing his chances of being with Hermione, he thought she was gone that Viktor had swept her off her feet with his charm and good looks, but Draco wasn't going to give up on her.

"Oi, who you going with?", Blaise asks nudging Draco.

Draco shrugged and began to scan the room, til his eyes fell on Pansy.

As much as he did not want to, Draco was considering asking Pansy, he knew she wouldn't say no and it wouldn't ruin his reputation.

So Draco's next mission was to ask Pansy to the  Yule Ball, that way he could still go and keep a close eye on Hermione.

A dates a date, he thought.
