Father,

There must be some misunderstanding, I would never have anything to do with that mudblood Granger, I'd rather swallow a bag of nails she is probably the worst of her kind and the most unattractive, Parkinson is just mad because I dumped her, because I just don't have time for pathetic little girls. I can assure you father I will continue to serve the Malfoy name and become my true destiny, a death eater. I can't wait to take over the world.

Regards,
Draco

Draco sighed before putting down his quill, and re reading his letter over and over again. How the letter was so untrue to how he felt, it hurt him so much to speak about Hermione like that, but he had to, in order to protect her.

Why couldn't his father just be a normal wizard like the others. Draco thought that was the reason he despised the Weasleys so much, they were all so tight knit, and their parents couldn't be anymore supportive or proud of their children. How Draco would kill to have a home cooked meal, a warm jumper knitted by his mother, and brothers and sisters that were always there for each other even if they were annoying.

Draco quickly rolled up the parchment and placed it in the corner of the desk, before standing and heading out of the door for his first class.

Hermione awoke late, she rushed to get her robes on and comb her hair. Before rushing out of the door, she wasn't in a rush for class she had a free period. She was in a rush to see Draco, she couldn't wait. She rushed to the Slytherin common room which was now empty and made her way to Draco's dormitory.

Hermione knocked quickly but there was no answer til finally Adrian opened the door.
Adrian gave Hermione glaring elevator eyes, and looking back to Draco's letter that was now opened on the desk.

"He's not here, feel free to come in and wait", Adrian sneers before walking out and slamming the door behind him.

Hermione walked into Draco's room and sat on his bed, she picked up his shirt and began to smell the mint and parchment scent, she smiled before placing the shirt back onto the bed.

She looked around the room and saw Draco's letter on the desk, she stood up and made her way over and began to read the letter, how her browns began to frown and her mouth became wide open, and a tear began to shimmer its way down Hermione's cheek.

"How could he", Hermione whispered to herself.

She wiped the tears from her eyes with the sleeve of her robe, she left Draco's dorm in a mess of confusion and rage.

How could he speak like that, was Draco just using her this whole time, was it all a joke to him, did he enjoy crushing Hermione's feelings and heart.

Hermione was shattered, how could she go from the happiest girl in the world to the most heartbroken in an instant.

Hermione was done she didn't want to see or hear from Draco ever again. She was done with his act and all his problems she didn't care anymore. How could she care for someone who talked about her like that, she hoped Draco did swallow a bag of nails.

Hermione made her way to her first class of the day, potions. Which happened to be Draco's second class of the day, how Draco didn't know what was coming to him.

Draco entered the classroom, he grew excited at the sight of Hermione's golden long hair, he sat across from her next to Goyle and looked over to her making eye contact, he gave Hermione a cheeky grin and a wink, but Hermione glared at him and scoffed before facing the front of the classroom.

Draco was very puzzled, was last night all a dream, was Hermione angry at him for some mysterious reason, had he done something one in a relationship not do.

Draco pushed his feelings aside for now and began to continue to focus on his work, that was something he had picked up from Hermione, Draco began to enjoy school work and discovered he was actually a bit of a bookworm, on the down low that is.

After jotting down the last few notes on black-fire potion, Draco wrote Hermione a little note on a piece of parchment before folding it into the shape of a swan and sending it over to her.

Hermione picked up the piece of parchment and unfolded it and began to read.

"Lunch in the girls bathroom?"

Hermione looked over to Draco and began to giggle before making a still blank face.

"Incendio" she chanted, and soon the note was on fire.

Draco gave her a puzzled looked but began to act like he didn't notice.

"Mustn't have been a nice letter you wrote Malfoy!", Adrian shouts from across the classroom.

Draco's eyes widen and he glared over to Hermione.

"You snooped through my stuff! Didn't your parents ever tell you to mind your own business!", Draco whispers.

"Actually it was already unopened on the desk, so next time you want to write a cruel letter maybe hide it in a draw" Hermione scowls.

Hermione picks up her books and storms her way out of the classroom.

"Class is not over Miss Granger!", Professor Snape bellows across the classroom.

"Does it look like I give a shit right now Professor!", Hermione shouts before slamming the door behind her.

"Well uh- *cough* that'll be um 10 points from Gryffindor", Snape says awkwardly before returning to his desk.

"Grangers kind of hot", Adrian says laughing along with Blaise.

"Wonder if she'll give me a go now that she's not with Malfoy", Adrian laughs.

"You stay the fuck away from her Pucey!", Draco yells standing from his seat.

"Oh yeah and what are you going to do about it? Tell your father, oh he'd love to hear all about that", Adrian smirks before turning to face the front.

Draco sat back down, he couldn't do anything, he had to let Hermione go for her safety, if only he could get her alone in private.

"Hey aren't you going to take points from Slytherin those two twats won't shut up!", Hannah Abbott yells from the back of the class.

Snape looks up at Hannah and smirks before proceeding to stand and intertwining his fingers with each other.

"5 points from Hufflepuff", Snape says smirking before sitting down again.

Draco couldn't believe it, he already lost Hermione before, but this time he knew it would be near impossible to get her back, so Draco knew the best thing was to let her go, let her be happy, and let her be free from the curse called Draco.
