Draco shuffled past Blaise and Adrian and walked over to the other side of the room, where he was now standing in front of Pansy and Millicent.

"Hello Draco, how are you?", Pansy asked with a deep blush on her face.

"Quite well thanks Parkinson, listen I've been meaning to ask, have you gotten a date to the Yule Ball yet?", Draco asked with his arms crossed in his chest, he glanced back over to Blaise who began to wolf whistle.

"Um no I-I-I haven't yet", Pansy stutters nervously.

"What do you say? Come with me?", Draco asks, Pansy's face lightens up.

"But of course Draco", Pansy replies giving a blushing grin.

"We'll look at you two lovebirds!", Blaise yells from across the room, Draco turns around and spots Hermione, who looks like she is about to burst with anger, her two eyes were burning holes straight through Draco's head. But Draco didn't care, she had accepted Viktor's invite, she didn't expect Draco to go alone did she.

Minutes later whilst Draco was walking out of the classroom, he gets smacked in the head by a big textbook which caused him to see stars, it was Hermione.

"What the hell was that!", She shrieked, her cheeks bright red.

"Shut up Granger your drawing too much attention to us", Draco says rubbing the back of his head.

"Don't change the subject!", Hermione growls.

"I'm going to the ball with Pansy", Draco smirked.

"No shit, it's totally barbaric! After last night I thought you would have known you were crossing the line!", Hermione bellowed.

"No what crossed the line is you going with Viktor, what so I'm not meant to go and be miserable, while your going to be canoodling around with that twat, not a chance", Draco huffed beginning to walk away, til Hermione grabbed his arm.

"Draco wait, I'm sorry, I guess I just got upset that you didn't want to be seen with me, and I guess I just wanted to show you what you were missing out on", Hermione says sincerely.

"It's okay, but it's not that I don't want to be seen with you, I just can't, I wish I could explain more of it. Believe me if I had the chance to show you off I would", Draco explains looking deep into Hermione's eyes which had a single tear escaping.

"I have to go now, but I'll see you tonight after the ball, at the astronomy tower, I'm sure your going to look gorgeous", Draco's says whilst giving Hermione's hand a quick squeeze, so quick no one would have saw.

Hermione felt a sense of relief, and couldn't help but feel like such an idiot for thinking Draco was embarrassed of her. She had finally started to trust him, and there was nothing that Hermione wouldn't trust him with even her life. She did still however feel a little bit of jealousy over Pansy, Hermione thought she was a prissy princess who always had her hands on Draco and always wanted him, and they did seem like the perfect match, dark, slytherin and pureblood, but Hermione knew Draco only loved her, and she knew that there was nothing to worry about.

Draco however was very worried, he did trust Hermione to some extent, but he still was not one hundred percent yet. Viktor was very impressive, not to mention very smart and a gentleman, something Draco thinks Hermione would look for in qualities in a guy, but if that was her case why was she with Draco. Draco thought long and hard about why Hermione would take any interest in him, was it money? Was it because she felt sorry for him? Was it all a plan to get secrets out of him?

Draco began to jump from assumption to assumption, but he couldn't keep thinking like this, Hermione had done nothing wrong, or nothing for him to be questioning her, so Draco stopped thinking. Well he stopped thinking about those things, and started to think about how soft her hair was and how beautiful she looked when she slept, last night Draco didn't even sleep very much at all, he stayed up most of the night admiring Hermione, because he knew he may not get a chance like that again.

Draco returned to his dorm where Blaise and Goyle were currently getting dressed into their dress robes.

"Hey Draco did you hear that Viktor Krum is taking that mudblood Granger to the ball, he must be bloody desperate", Goyle laughs.

Draco has a sudden urge of anger but knows he has to start learning to control himself.

"Haha yeah, pathetic ", Draco sneers.

Draco begins to get ready himself, he puts his usual hair gel in his hair, and his white dress robes that his mother had sent him, he sprayed on some of his mint smelling cologne before making his way out of the door with Blaise and Goyle.

Draco was currently in the great hall with an annoying Pansy on his arm, awaiting the Triwizard champions and their dates to come in for their dance.

Draco waited patiently ignoring Pansy's annoying chatter til he saw her Hermione, she looks breath taking in her pink petal dress, smiling and waving to her friends in the crowd whilst gripping onto a masculine Viktor's arm. Draco's jaw clenching, he didn't want anyone to be touching her.

He stood back and watched as Hermione and Viktor waltzed around the room, watching Viktor's every hand movement making sure it didn't go to a place that was not allowed, even Viktor's hand in Hermione's waist drove Draco stark mad.

"Are you alright Draco ?", Pansy asked.

"Fine", Draco spat.

For the rest of the night Draco danced with Pansy, it was torture for him, he wasn't even paying attention to her really, all his attention was in the happy couple Viktor and Hermione, they were dancing and smiling the whole night, Hermione hadn't even glanced or noticed Draco, Draco's was starting to think she had changed her mind, that she wouldn't show up tonight, but Draco was still hopeful and left a miserable Pansy on the dance floor.

Draco waited for two hours in the freezing cold at the top of the astronomy tower, tears were streaming down his face, the pictures in his head of Viktor and Hermione kissing at the ball whilst he was waiting in the cold like a pathetic little boy.

Draco stood up and was just about to leave when he saw her.

"Granger?"
