Childe's fist met with the wall, the tremor that came afterwards caused Zhongli to rush over to the kitchen where he saw the two males that couldn't get along glaring at each other with almost murderous intent.

"Where's (y/n)?" He scanned around the room. Who knows, she could've gotten so stressed out dealing with the two that she hid somewhere.

"Right here." The girl in question sighed. "I had to talk about something with Qiqi. I leave for just a little bit and this happens." She continued and walked past Zhongli, entering the kitchen.

"I suggested you to come work here because I knew you needed a job! And this is how you're going to act?" Childe let out a bitter laugh. "I never once tried to make an enemy out of you, I even helped you in the past though it was for my benefit."

"Bold of you to admit it was for your benefit. You're not even trying to make this any better, want to fight? The loser can quit working here!" Scaramouche replied.

(Y/n) looked to Zhongli wondering if it was a good idea to step in. Wondering if he thought it was a good idea, or if he had anything in mind.

"Should we... Call Baizhu maybe?" She asked. "I want to let them settle this but now isn't the time for them to be dealing with their personal issues."

"I worry that Baizhu will punish them severely."

"Probably."

The two arguing in the background were fueled with so much pent up anger and negative emotions towards each other for so long, they struggled to keep it held back. In the process, they couldn't even notice Zhongli and (Y/n) watching the event unfold.

"If we fight we'll both lose our jobs." Childe took in a deep breath and closed his eyes.

"You're just scared."

Scaramouche was set on finishing things with Childe, but the latter was doing his best to think rationally, not wanting to risk losing his job.

"Let's continue this later. I'm not going to stoop so low to be as reckless and careless as you are." Childe turned his back on Scaramouche and the navy haired boy scrambled with words in his head.

"You aren't like this Childe. You're just like me, you don't give a damn about others. You're just as reckless, just as careless, and I know all the things you've done in the past. You can lie to them, but you can't lie to me, or yourself." He mumbled, and pointed his finger at (Y/n). "You'll do the same thing to her, just like you did with the last girl. And the girl before that one-"

"Shut up."

"You think you can just leave your past behind, start working at a café and say you've changed and think you're better than me!?" Scaramouche started laughing maniacally. "I know you love jokes Childe but this... This is just so pitiful!"

"Shut up!" Childe repeated. His eyes fixated to the ground trying to forget the past of the delinquent that seemed beyond saving. "I'm not him anymore... Say one word and."

"And? You'll torment me like a puppet? Like what you did to-"

"Enough!" The voice of a small girl echoed throughout the room, followed by two frying pans clashing against each other. "Qiqi does not tolerate this behavior! This is not at all work behavior!"

"Doesn't matter, I'm done here." Childe immediately left the area.

(Y/n) and Zhongli both stood in shock, however it was far worst for the girl. Past? Childe never once talked to her about it.

"With that face, I'm assuming he hasn't told you a thing." Scaramouche didn't hide the look of joy on his face.

'I... Don't know a thing about Childe at all.' (Y/n) bit her lip. A mix of negative emotions like worry, and sadness. It made her feel sick.

Zhongli glanced at (y/n), noticing the pained look on her face and placed his hand on her shoulder. "You shouldn't worry. Childe is a good man."

"Coming from someone whose only known him for not much longer than a year." Scaramouche snickered, and (y/n) shot him a fierce glare.

"Even if Childe has made mistakes in the past, it's naive to say that can't change."

"Believe what you will. But you should at least hear it from him for yourself. The things he's done."

Scaramouche left the café seeming lax despite what happened. When the time came where there was no customers and the staff could take a break, Kaeya, Barbara and Noelle rushed to hear about what happened from Zhongli and (Y/n), though the two didn't want to get into detail.

"Eeh? So that's why the two just left? Things will be alright tomorrow, right?" Barbara asked.

"Xiangling missed out a lot today!" Noelle smiled.

"Noelle this isn't something you should be smiling about!"

"Hmm but thinking about Xiangling makes me smile."

The blonde pouted and distanced herself from Noelle. "I'll learn to cook far better than she can. Hmph. I'll make you happier than she can." She mumbled.

"Sorry, where you saying something Barbara?"

"Ask the Xiangling in your head about that!"

'Kaeya's leaving soon too and this happens.' (Y/n) felt her sad emotions two fold. As a friend, she wanted to make his final days working here fun and memorable. But instead It's the complete opposite.
