"Excuse me, um," I stuttered, nervous of my poor social ability since I'm new to this place... again.
"Name?" The girl behind the desk nonchalantly asks.
"Kim Dae Eun."
The girl handed me a paper and my ID and a map of the university as well.
"Thank you!"
It's my orientation day here at uni, and I've never felt so alone. I look around for students with the same ID and maybe I can tag along with them just to survive today's agenda.
One group caught my attention as they were all wearing the same ID as mine. I hadn't check on our website who my classmates are gonna be. That's why I am so clueless at the moment.
I sat under the shade of a tree, fished my phone from my bag. I was typing in our website to check and make sure if these people are my classmates when a girl approached me.
"Kim Dae Eun-ssi?"
Thank goodness, I mastered my mother tongue a month ago.
"Yes? That's me." I stood up.
The girl smiled radiantly. And as if on cue, the wind blows the trees and its branches made way for some sunshine to hit her skin like spotlight. It made her look like she was glowing in all glory and beauty.
I almost want to step out of my body and check if I wasn't looking at her with a vacant expression.
"I know." She giggled. "I saw you on our school site. I'm Choi Areum. We're classmates by the way."
"Really?" I sighed in relief and exclaimed, "Oh my stars!"
"What?"
"Nothing." I chuckled. "Are they our classmates too?" I pointed to the group and didn't notice that they, the group, were now actually headed our way.
"I'm not sure." Choi Areum said, her attention was also at the group approaching us.
"Freshmen?" The one with a hot pink hair asked when they finally came face to face with us.
"Yes." Choi Areum replies instantly.
"Us too." The pink headed guy grins.
One by one, they introduce themselves, and I noticed they were ogling at Choi Areum, escpecially the boys. Who wouldn't? She was really pretty.
On our way to the campus, I got to know some of our classmates, Ahn Bo Gyo and Lee Sun Shin.
Bo Gyo was quiet and deep whilst Sun Shin was really funny and loud. She likes a good laugh. Although she was often bullied because of her name, she doesn't mind. She liked the fact that I don't have any idea what's so funny about her name.
As we enter the function hall for a quick intro from our school staff members, a familiar face made me quicken my pace.
Could that be him? Is it really possible that my search would be over this fast?
"Jeon Jungkook! Hey! Jungoo-"
"Dae Eun-a!" Choi Areum suddenly grabs me and invites me to sit with her. "Let's sit here." I turn my gaze back to where I thought I saw Jungkook but he was gone.
I took my sit, my mind in a daze. I really thought I saw Jungkook. But maybe I was just imagining things. It's not the first time, really.
This plan is taking its toll on me and my mental state. I think I'm starting to hallucinate. It's not that I'm obsessed about him. He owes me an explanation.
