Day two of the festival.
Throngs of people mobbed our stall last night. I was lucky that I only got picked four times, and that is equivalent to four drinks only.
"Sun Shin! Bo Gyo!" I call out to the two. They were preparing the frozen packs of food for tonight's menu.
"Oh. Dae Eun-a! What's up?" Sun Shin acknowledges while Bo Gyo gives me a nod.
"Hey, guys!" Park Jimin was already there too.
"What are you doing?" I chuckled, my brows furrowed at him.
He was doing some ridiculous antics again. With his hands angled as if he was holding a camera, he made shutter sounds as if he was a photographer.
Bo Gyo tutted but I posed as if I was a model on a magazine. Sun Shin joins in, while still wearing an apron and holding a rag.
"Nice shot!" Jimin exclaims. "A little bit to the side!"
"Aish, enough of that." Sun Shin sighs and goes back to wiping the counter top.
"Woah... You could be the ambassadress of traditional hanbok, Kim Dae Eun!" Jimin stated, his eyes wide. "You really wear it well."
"Don't flatter me. I will not forgive you for recruiting me in your plans."
"Seriously though, you look like someone I've seen before. Maybe a celebrity?"
I laugh and rolled my eyes at him. I know he's just saying that so I wouldn't be mad at him anymore.
"Yah, Park Jimin! Enough chitchatting! Go set up the tables already!" Bo Gyo cries out, seemingly annoyed.
"Are you the representative?" Jimin kids and Bo Gyo hits him with a spatula.
"Ow! Ow! Okay, okay!"
"Let me help you guys." I assisted them in lifting the cases of beer and soju and helped with cleaning the barbecue grill.
"Aren't you gonna prepare yet? We'll open early today, remember?" Bo Gyo queries while slicing some onions. We suggested to the representatives to open early today so we won't miss the concert later.
Last night got me bored. We were sitting in a make-shift palanquin and waiting to be randomly chosen by a customer. And when I wasn't picked, I spend my time inside the fake palanquin, playing games on my phone. I couldn't even help out with the cooking and cleaning the tables which I prefer than just sitting and doing nothing.
I scratch my head, reluctant to wear a hanbok and not do much again.
In my periphery, I see the seniors approaching the tent. I turn to look and saw the tall figure of Seok Jin sunbae amongst them.
"I'll go then." I suddenly say. Bo Gyo followed the direction I was looking at and probably saw Seok Jin sunbae too. She gave me a look. I didn't wait for her to comment and waved them goodbye, saying, "See you guys later."
These past few days, I did nothing but circumvent people. And I can't believe it could be quite exhausting.
Areum and Bum Jo were already there when I arrived. They were talking in low voices when I came in but stopped talking when they saw me approaching. They both look up and greeted me and I returned their civilities almost half-heartedly.
"Just excuse yourself. I think Yoon So unnie will understand." Bum Jo says to Areum, rubbing her arm in sympathy.
"Why? Is something wrong, Areum?" I genuinely ask her.
