The picture plane is not a 'fish tank' that keeps fishes swimming within Instead, the picture plane should be seen as a window through which we see images of the artist's private world. Therefore, some images should overlap the edge, meaning partial of some images being cut off by the edge of the paper/canvas. For example, if you are creating a multi-duplication of a shape, some of which could not be seen as whole due to the edge of the paper.
