Erwin's PoV

I awoke the next morning, sitting up as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I took in my surroundings and saw that everyone was still asleep. 'I must be the only one awake.' I thought as I quietly stood up, stretching until I was satisfied.

I stepped over a few of the cadets and walked around Hange's sprawled out form as I made my way to the door of the room we all slept in. I walked down the short hallway and into the dining room of the base, running my hand over my face before combing my fingers through my hair, slicking it back.

A few strands of my hair fell back in my face as I walked over to one of the windows in the room, grabbing a bottle of water from the filtration machine when I walked past. I unscrewed the cap and took a drink as I stared out of the window and into the vast distance.

'How did we get ourselves into this mess? How am I going to make sure we get out of this alive? I know nothing of this world. I don't know of the dangers that this planet contains.' I thought to myself as I took another sip of water.

My eyes trailed over to one of the large glowing fish as it swam by. I do believe (F/n) calls it a Ghost Ray. What an odd creature. A shiver wracked my spine from the mysterious animal as it slowly slipped from my point of view.

An exhale left my lips the moment my mouth left the empty water bottle. I tossed the empty bottle into the trash bin, staring out into the arcane depths of this world's ocean. I turned and walked over to the other side of the base and into (F/n)'s workroom.

I walked over to the locker and opened it, examining the gear she had made for the extra set of hands that's supposed to go with her. I gently placed the suit onto the table beside me and crossed my arms over my chest as I thought about my options.

'Should I let Hange go? With her curious nature and hunger for knowledge, should I have her take that risk? I mean, there's always the option that I go, but even so...What use would I be? I'm not even sure how most of this equipment works.' I sighed and leaned against the wall, staring at the equipment in thought.

I was back in the dining room, now with everyone awake. (F/n) made sure we all ate before she and Levi had to leave. I cleared my throat as I finished my small meal and stood up. I tossed the remnants of the strange food I consumed into the trash bin and walked over to Hange.

"Hange, come see me when you're finished. I'd like a word with you." Her head turned towards my direction and shook up and down, expressing her agreement towards my order.

"Yes, Erwin." I thanked (F/n) for the food before walking into the room we all had slept in and stared out of the only window, waiting patiently. After a ranger short amount of time, Hange entered and walked over to where I stood.

"What did you want to talk to me about, Erwin?" She asked, looking up at me as I stared out of the window beside us.

"I've made my decision... I will allow you to go, but only on the condition that you do everything that (F/n) tells you. You have to promise that you'll be as careful as possible. She knows more about the ocean here than we do, so stay by her side." I spoke, my eyes soft yet stern while trying to read her emotions.

"I don't need you getting yourself killed. Understood?" She looked up at me and nodded once again, clearly trying to contain the excitement running through her veins.

"Yes, Erwin. I swear to be careful while I'm gone with both (F/n) and Levi." Getting a hold of her excitement, she put on a serious expression and firmly nodded her head.

"Good. You may leave." She saluted before turning and making her way to the other room, releasing a barely audible squeal as she left causing me to release a chuckle. I lifted my hand to my head letting my fingers glide through my hair again, combing the bright blonde strands back. An exhale soon left my lips as I continued looking out through the glass window.

Hange's PoV

Excitement rushed through my veins as I tried to not release a squeal of excitement. I immediately rushed out of the room in search of Levi and (Y/n), hoping that they weren't already preparing to leave. I ran straight through the dining room, with Sasha still eating, and into (F/n)'s workroom.

"Levi! (Y/n)!!" I screeched with the corners of my lips pulled back in a huge smile.

"Erwin said I can come with you!!" I exclaimed loudly, drawing their attention towards my direction. Levi pursed his lips back into a scowl as he released a 'tch' noise. It's obvious he didn't want me to come but I didn't care since I was too excited about coming along with them.

"Great! Since Erwin decided that you can come along with us, I need to get you suited up." (F/n) exclaimed with a smile, probably excited to get out of here. I squealed in excitement as she handed me rather odd-looking clothing. With my right eyebrow raised, I shot a look of confusion towards my two companions.

"What do I do with this and how do I put it on?" I said, concern lacing my voice. I now come to realize this might not as much of a fun trip as I thought out.

(So yeah I'm SEVERAL hours late. I kiiinndddaaaa got braindead and didn't know what to wriiiittteee. Rose (my Co-Author Black___Rose) wrote A LOT of this chapter. I wrote just a small portion of it and edited the rest. Make sure to give thanks to her because she's absolutely amazing and always keeps me on track. Without her this would probably be discontinued!! Anyway, enough praising. The next chapter will hopefully be up on Friday with an authors note from Rose. Until next time, baaaiii!)
