Survive For Me (Subnautica/AOT Crossover)

16th Chapter

After the now familiar hypnotic green flooded our vision as we traveled an unknown distance, the three of us stumbled out of the portal, both me and Hange landing face first into the dirt. We both groaned at the pain invading our senses, later giggling like idiots once we looked at each others dirty faces while Levi let out a 'Tch' at our lack of care for our hygiene. We both got up feeling a bit dizzy, hearing cheering from several people, giving me a jolt of fright. My eyes widened as I saw all the other soldiers gathering around the portal we just came out of. I smiled and stepped aside, watching as everyone greeted Levi and Hange. They both got pats and questions like "What happened?" Or "What did you see?"

My smile slowly faded as I felt a pang in my chest, realizing I'll probably never be treated like that again now that all my loved ones are dead. I frowned and looked at the ground, my chest tightening with heartbreak at my realization, craving close friendship and affection. I then had a mini heart attack as I jumped up and turned around when I felt a hand land on my shoulder rather roughly. "Sorry. I just wanted to talk to you now that you're back." Eren said with a small sheepish smile, and I immediately calmed down. "Hello, again." Armin said, popping out from behind Eren like an adorable bean, (my co-author wrote that lol) soon being joined by the stone faced caring Mikasa. "Glad to have you back in one piece!" Armin said with a big smile on his face.

My heart seemed to swell, and grow warm in my chest as I smiled at their kindness towards me. I gave an appreciative nod towards them, feeling much more at peace then I was a minute ago. I then noticed Levi staring at me out of the corner of my eye. I looked back at him only to realize he's looking at Eren in a slight glare like manner. His face looks unpleasant as he let's out a 'Tch' and turns away with narrowed brows. 'Was he...?' I quickly shake my head and push that thought out. "Everyone! We should be heading back to base soon. It gets dangerous at night!" I shouted to everyone just loud enough for them to hear as I lead Eren, Armin, and Mikasa to the exit, trying to gain some swagger in my step. (She wrote that too lol) Following me, everyone swam through the water and climbed into the entrance of the cyclops in an orderly manner, much to my suprise.

After everyone had piled in and I was about to lead them into the area where my Seamoth is, I was stopped by a voice trying to gain my attention. I turned around to the voice, confused and a bit concerned. I then saw a brown haired girl who I believe to be named Sasha make her way through the small crowd, her eyes lit up with hopefulness. Following her was Connie, holding a similar look on his face. "Can we go exploring around the ship, please? We promise not to break anything, and we'll be super careful! Right Connie?" Pleaded Sasha, earning an exaggerated nod from her male companion. "Right!! Promise!"At hearing the loud duos request, almost the entire crew became interested, and I could tell they wanted to explore as well.

Slightly hesitant I responded "It's a submarine, not necessarily a ship, but alright. Please do keep your promise, and that goes for everybody, for everyones safety. And please no running." I added with a slight smile tugging at my lips. With that, many nodded in agreement and took off to see the rest of the submarine, speed-walking in an attempt to obey my orders, causing me to let a few giggles escape. I then headed towards the cockpit of the sub as I turned the engine on, hearing a very familiar voice. "Engine Powering Up. Ahead Standard." I named the voice JARVIS, after a character from a very very very old marvel movie. As I began to drive the cyclops, I saw someone in the corner of my eye. Turning in their direction, I realized it's Erwin who is watching me drive the sub.

"Ah, am I bothering you? I can leave if you want." Erwin said as he backed away a little. "No no! It's OK, really! Actually," I started, biting my lip nervously. "People call you the Commander, so obviously you're the leader, right?" I asked, to which he nodded to. "I suppose so, why?" He questioned. "Do you want to learn how to drive my Cyclops? It'd be very helpful if I ever got injured or if your group split up and someone would have to drive the Submarine." I said with a small smile on my lips, watching as Erwin thought the idea over in his head. Already finding the right words to say, he began to speak. "That doesn't sound too bad. A driving lesson would be rather necessary and educational." He finished off with a smile. "Great!" I loudly said as I took my hands off the wheel and stepped aside, motioning for Erwin to come forward.
