Survive For Me (Subnautica/AOT Crossover)

20th Chapter

'Fshhp' 'Fshhp' 'Fshhp' Slicing the clusters off is the easy part, but the hard part is being quick enough so (F/n) doesn't get killed by those Stalkers. 'bltz' "Hey, Levi." 'bzt' "Uh, not trying to rush you or anything," 'bzzzt' "but can you like, ya know, speed it up?" I rolled my eyes as I did my best to pick up the pace. "Hey, it's not as easy as it looks, brat!" I snapped back in response. 'bzzz' "It was easier when I did it the first time." 'Tzzzzt' I continued to collect the clusters, as the tick mark on my forehead slowly grew bigger. "Well, I'm not you, now am I, brat?" There was silence for a moment, 'bltz' "...Noted, but can you please just hurry-" 'Tzt'  "-up?" I rolled my eyes again and gathered the last remaining clusters needed. "I got them, now let's go!" (F/n) quickly dropped the metal salvage she was carrying before swimming up to the surface so we could get our oxygen back. I looked at her and glared. "We are never, doing that again."

(F/n) smiled and rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, captain. Now let's get that lead and titanium and get back to base, shall we?" She said before diving back below the surface. I 'tched' before diving after her. "Where are we going now, brat?" She chuckled, "We're heading back to The Safe Shallows. We'll be able to find titanium there and hopefully some lead if we manage to find any sandstone deposits." I raised a brow, slightly confused. Seeming to understand what I was confused about, she immediately replied after. "There's information on your PDA, under the Geological tab." She stated as she continued swimming ahead. I pulled out my PDA and searched for information on the needed materials, quickly scanning my eyes over the information. I put my PDA away once I knew what I was looking for and caught up to (F/n). She stopped and looked around. "Here we are," She said, looking in my direction and smiled.

"We can split up now if you want but don't go too far and be careful in caves." (F/n) said, soon swimming off towards a cave nearby when I nodded in approval of splitting up. I swam off towards a small crater with different caves connected to it. I swam down to the area, being mindful of how much oxygen I have. I saw what I assumed as sandstone deposits and continued down towards one of the cave entrances. Judging by the colors and look of it, I assumed it to be a sandstone outcrop I saw in my PDA. I used the handle of my heated knife and used it to break it open. Sure enough, it was exactly what the picture showed that we needed. Lead fell from the broken outcrop and I quickly grabbed it, putting it in my inventory.

I soon started searching for more sandstone deposits wanting this little scavenging hunt to be over with already so we could return back to her base. 'bltzz' "How's everything-" 'Bzt' "-going on your end, Levi?" I heard her voice come through the speaker in the helmet. "Decent but not fast enough. How long does this usually take?" I asked, becoming rather annoyed at the pace we're going.

(F/n)'s PoV

I giggled at his annoyance. "I won't lie to you, it takes a while. Mostly when trying to find sandstone outcrops. That's why I'm focusing more on the titanium needed right now. I did manage to find a few pieces of lead though, so we're getting there. Just hold out a bit longer, okay?" I heard him 'tch'. 'bltz' "Whatever, brat." I chuckled, shaking my head at his attitude before diving deeper into one of the caves. I got about halfway after picking up more titanium when I heard multiple hatching-like sounds of a crashfish. Panic immediately settled into my veins as I fumbled my seaglide out and began swimming out of the cave. 'Grggrggrgrg'. "Shit! How did I not see that?! Shit, shit, shit!!" I exclaimed as scrambled to get out, adrenaline pounding in my ears.

Levi's PoV

I had just managed to find more lead when I heard (F/n) begin cursing frantically. 'bltz' "Shit! How did--" 'Zzzt' "-not see--" (F/n) shouted, soon getting cut off. The last thing I heard was a loud explosion followed by buzzing silence. Immediately feeling uneasy after hearing the explosion, I put my hand up to my helmet and spoke in a slightly perturbed voice. "Are you still there?" I questioned, becoming more and more anxious the more the buzzing silence continued. I decided to swim back up to the surface after not hearing back from (F/n) in a while. I looked around once I swam back under the surface again, trying to remember where she swam off to. After swimming around for a while, I noticed a pair of legs dangling from the surface and felt relieved for a moment before swimming up to where she was. 

I broke the surface of the water, slightly startling (F/n). The look of slight surprise soon changed to a shit-eating smile as she realized it was me. "What the fuck happened?" I said, not believing that after that incident she would be just fine. "So," She started, "I was in one of the caves when I accidentally swam into crashfish territory and set a few of them off. They caught me off guard and ended up exploding but I'm fine, and," She said, going into her inventory and pulling out a handful of grainy material. "I got cave sulfur!" Confused as all hell, I looked at the item and looked back at her face. "What the hell is cave sulfur?" I questioned. "It's something we'll probably need in the future." She said with a shrug as she placed the item back in her inventory. I looked at her with wide eyes, baffled by her statement. "You mean to tell me, you almost died for a material that you don't even know when we'll need it!?" She looked at me and simply shrugged. "Seems that way." I felt my eye twitch in annoyance. "Let's just get back to the base."

(HIIIIII!!!! Like I said last time here's the update!!!! I and my Co-Author have already become literal best friends since we met three days ago. We clicked so easily and work well together! There are some things we need to work on and we'll be doing just that!!! Criticism is ALWAYS welcome because we're always trying to improve our writing as authors! Thanks for reading!!
