"Aaru, you need to get out of this room for once and get ready! It's your wedding, for god's sake", Ekanshi Yadav, banged on Aadhya's door for the umpteenth time. But what surprised her was that Aadhya opened the door. Her face was puffy, her eyes were swollen and her lips were bleeding due to her constantly biting them. She looked damaged, broken; and that was something Ekanshi never expected Aadhya to be. She had always seen her as the optimistic, bright one and herself as the dull, depressed one. "Aaru! what have you done of yourself! Are you even in your goddamn mind?" Aadhya simply pulled Ekanshi into her room and tightly bolted the door.

Ekanshi Verma, now Yadav was the only person whom Aadhya trusted completely. Although she loved her family, yet years of her ill-treatment had broken some of her trust. Ekanshi, however, never liked the Agrawal's. She had always felt off about them. And now, seeing Aadhya like this had worried her so much. It was the Agrawals who had called Ekanshi and asked her to come to Udaipur - not because they cared, but because it was Aadhya's engagement that day and they wanted her to get ready. Ekanshi, unlike Aadhya, knew about Eklavya. Who, in their right state of mind, would not know about THE EKLAVYA VED RATHORE? Since, her beau, Vansh Yadav worked under their company, the Rathore's, she knew what kind of a man or in other words Ekanshi knew that  Eklavya was a one-woman man, and thanks to her being a lawyer, she as well knew that Eklavya had chosen Aadhya as his woman

"Aaru, listen. You had to get married to someone, one day or the other. No one in their right state of mind would willingly give up the opportunity of being married to the Rathore's. Just give it a thought!" Aadhya was still, however, reluctant "Eku, I do not want to give up my dreams! The Royal Family of the Rajputs is very conservative. They would never allow, me to wor-" She was cut off by her mother's voice. Aadhya, reluctantly, went forward and opened the door, since it was the first time in four days, that her mother wanted to talk with her. "Aadhya, the Engagement's auspicious time is from 5 o'clock. That leaves three hours for you to get ready. Start dolling up already." Aadhya decided to convince her mother, "Maa, I do not want to marry him. You know I want to work and I do not think that the Rathore's will allow that. Please Maa. I promise once I am settled professionally, I will get settled personally too." Aadhya's mother gave her an unimpressed look, "Aadhya, these tactics won't work. Start behaving like a proper adult and give up your childish behavior. I am tired of you!" and saying so she left, banging the door close on her way, leaving behind Aadhya in tears. Aadhya fell on her knees and started sobbing badly. If her own mother couldn't understand her if she wanted to give up on her dreams, how could Aadhya continue? People say a mother is her daughter's best friend, and if she fails to understand her how could Aadhya continue?

Ekanshi felt extremely bad for Aadhya, she wanted to give Mrs. Agrawal a piece of her mind, to make her understand that having a daughter like Aadhya was what most couples dreamt of. However, she knew, she had to be strong for Aadhya. She consoled her, "Aaru, see and think about my words once. You saw, that your family doesn't want to support your dreams. Not only today, but your family had never even wanted to get you a job. And you have already communicated with Eklavya. I know you feel that they are conservative, but did he tell you to give up on your dreams? No. You talked with Maharani sa too. Did she tell you to leave your job? No, right? If they wanted you to sit at home, they would have already told you. And if it is about his cold and strict nature, you know that it takes certain people time to open up to others. Who can know this better than your introverted self?", seeing Aadhya gradually absorbing her words, she continued, "If you give up this chance Aaru, it is possible that your family may wed you off to someone who may not care about you, your feeling at all. Is that what you want Aadhya?"

Aadhya finally understood her words, she shook her head and then wiped off her tears with the back of her hand, gave Ekanshi a smile, thanked her with a hug, and then went off to get ready.

She was prepared to take her first step towards her becoming a Rathore.

For those who are confused about the Rathore's and the Rajputs- the Rajputs is a clan or a royal sect of which the Rathore's are on the higher most hierarchy. Therefore, the word Rajputs and Rathore's will be used interchangeably in the context. Even the Agrawal's are Rajputs (in this story) but they are in the lower levels, therefore they won't be mentioned as Rajputs here.
