[•Lucine's POV•]
FINALLY!Free at last!
Was what I thought after the end of the ceremony before I was stopped by the one and only Louvis.
"Lord Odessa, may I ask a bit of your time?" The 4 feet taller than me demon asked.
Gosh he so damn tall I have to crane my head so high to even look at his face!
"Hm, I don't see why not." I mused.
"It won't take long, don't worry." He reassured as he stepped side ways for me to walk with him.
"If you say so."
—————
"Lord Bayon?" I questioned as we walked in the garden.
"Ah, you're here. Finally." The demon said as he bowed his head.
That totally doesn't sound ominous.
"What is it did you want, Archduke Louvis." I ordered with a tone of suspicion.
"To talk." He said simply.
"About the hunting ground." Bayon added.
"Oh, that."
"After months of searching, we still couldn't fathom how you found out. Either way, we wouldn't wanna know." Louvis informed.
"Right now, we just want to ask why you haven't done anything yet." Bayon put his hands behind him, while Louvis pet his monkey Palvus.
They're afraid.
To think that these are the same sadistic demons who've slaughtered innocent lives of children just for the fun of it.
Or they're just afraid of what I can do to them.
Most likely the latter.
"Oh, I won't do anything." I reassured, their tension seemed to lessen at that.
"But someone else will." I added, making them tense again, while Palvus stared at me like a creepy Chihuahua wanting to bite my finger.
"Someone else?" Bayon questioned.
"I cannot say. Only that your punishment will come with time." I waved a hand at them as I turned to leave.
"I advise you keep a better eye if you don't want to die." I finished as I closed the doors to the garden.
—————
"Where have you been?" Lunate asked as he saw me come in.
"Oh, you know... Just talked to Louvis and Bayon." I said nonchalantly.
"What did they want?" He asked suspiciously.
"They just asked why I haven't done anything even after finding out about THAT place."
"Oh, I see... What did you say?"
"That someone else will do it."
"Seriously?"
"Yes."
"*Sigh* Why are you always trying to create chaos?"
"Ouch, that's insulting."
"I'm not insulting, I'm describing you." He deadpanned.
"*GASP!* How dare you! You should know that I was a well respected head chief back in my day. You should not talk to me that way!"
"Respect my ass."
"That's gay."
My words made him spit out the blood juice he was drinking, making me burst into laughter.
Thank goodness we have our own private feast.
"Mother—"
"—Ape ass!"
"LUCINE!!!"
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
—————
"Ah! Lord Odessa, Master Odessa, greetings!" Elliot bowed his head as he saw us walk up to him.
"Same to you." Lunate retorted.
"Is there anything you need right now?" He asked.
"We just wanted to ask if your clan have found a way to make more premium meat." I replied.
"Oh yes, I remember that. Well, we've actually concluded that we should try breeding both human and demon genes to see what happens." He informed.
"So, you'd like to experiment?" Lunate asked.
"Basically, yes."
"How will you do that?" I asked.
"We thought of going the natural way, but we can't be sure if a human female would even have the power and energy to give birth to such a specie. So we have a plan B: Artificially creating one. If the first plan fails, we'll try the second." He explained.
"And if those doesn't work?" Lunate questioned.
"We'll try forcing the brain to work better using drugs we're currently making. We'll be doing all three so that we won't waste time." He replied.
"Interesting..." I mumbled.
So does that mean that Lambda had been created already?
"You can actually come visit the lab through this world. We have created a facility called 'Lambda' as our base of experiment. We'll be starting soon, using 6 year olds to 12 as the test subjects." He informed.
"That's good to know, Mr. Elliot." Lunate appreciated.
"Oh yeah! I heard your wedding with Ms. Valerie is in two months, are we invited?" I asked out of the blue.
"Oh! Of course you are! Both of you! It'd be a blessing and honor to have both of you be there in our wedding." He grinned.
"That's great! We'll be there with your wedding gifts!" I clapped my hands in anticipation.
"Oh, it's alright if you don't have any wedding gifts. It'd be too much trouble." He reassured.
"Nonsense! You two deserve it!" Lunate waved dismissively.
"But—"
"No buts."
"O-okay."
After that, we made our way to the royal auditorium for the rest of the Tifari.
"Are there gonna be dancing and singing demons?" I asked curiously.
"Something like that, its traditional for demons to show what they're made of to be worthy of the peace our families promised." Elliot explained.
"So like a school festival?" I questioned.
"Yeah, kinda." Lunate shrugged.
I don't like school festivals.
